No fewer than 44 people were slaughtered on Tuesday night by some unknown gunmen at Dumba Village on the outskirt of Baga Town, Kukawa local government area of Borno State, Saturday Mirror has gathered. Sources told our our reporter yesterday that about 50 gunmen stormed the village which is few kilometers away from Baga and slaughtered 44 people.
Many people were also said to have been injured in the attack. It was gathered that the gunmen also set fire on some houses in the village. Baga is about 157 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the state capital and an area which had witnessed series of attacks through bombings and gunshots by terrorists. Our correspondent gathered that rescue workers have mobilised to the area from Maiduguri with the aim of providing medical services to the surviving victims.
The assailants were said to have removed the two eyes of some of the victims while some have their bodies decapitated. A rescue worker told journalists in Maiduguri that the village came under attack on Tuesday when some unknown gunmen stormed the settlement and killed many people when they were fast asleep.
‘’As I’m speaking to you now, Red Cross officials and the San Medicine Frontier are attending to the injured victims,’’ a rescue workers with a federal government agency who does not want to be named said. According to him, the village has been deserted and the people are now taking refuge at the Baga Central Primary School.
A source with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) who confirmed the incident to our reporter, said the agency have mobilised to the area to access the situation with a view to rendering humanitarian assistance to the injured victims and those who were psychologically traumatised in the attack. According to him, the agency will on Saturday(today) set up camp for the displaced at the Baga Central Primary School for the displaced victims. The spokesman of the Joint Task Force(JTF) could not be reached for comment on the attack on the village.
In an email response to our correspondent’s enquirty yesterday in Maiduguri, the media coordinator of the multinational joint task force in Baga, Lieutenant Haruna Sani, said: “I am right now in Adamawa for an assignment and due to the network problem, I have difficulty in reaching my HQ. I suggest you find out from DHQ (Defence), may be they are in the picture of the incidence.”
Since the dislodgement of insurgents from Maiduguri attacks in local government areas and villages have been on the increase. Early, this month 44 people were killed in Konduga council area when they were coming from the early morning prayer from mosques.

Unlike ‘Femina’,Ese Walters, who indulged in a week-long affair with the married pastor, this lady, who identified herself simply as Franca E., not only decoded Pastor Biodun’s sinister agenda on time by following the biblical injunction which says ‘flee from all appearances of evil’, she also took photographs of the encounter and has dared the randy preacher to deny it.
Read her unedited story below:
“This Ese Walters story is true. I was introduced to the church in Abuja by my childhood friend, who moved to Abuja from Calabar two years before I did. When I joined, she was also a PCU (for Pastoral Care Unit) worker. I really felt welcome in the church up until my friend started having problems with other women. She told me it was because Pastor Biodun trusted her with so many official things even above workers that were there before her. I believed her until the day she had a misunderstanding with another worker who called her ‘Ashewo Mary Magdalene’ in the church.
“After that, her enthusiasm for church started waning while mine was getting stronger till the day she told me she was leaving the church and shortly after she left. By that time, Pastor Biodun had developed an interest in counseling me and then started telling me to take my friendsplace as a PCU worker. I was reluctant because I didnt feel like coming to church early and leaving late but Pastor Biodun assured me that his personal driver will pick me and drop me off and so I agreed.
“I started work as arranged but after a while, I noticed that the pastor did not respect personal space when talking to me when we were alone.
“He would stand soooooo close and rub my upper arms or my back which made me very uncomfortable. The final straw was when he said I should go with him to Lagos to take notes and transfer same online immediately for some Pentacostal thing he was attending and he knew I was very computer literate.
“I was excited till we reached Lagos and I realized that only one room was booked at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi. Of course I complaint and the Pastor called the front desk (or pretended to) to demand for another room. He said they would call back when the room was ready.
