Appeal Court sacks Benue House of Representative Member

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ordered a House of Representatives member, Hon. Hassan Saleh from Benue State to vacate the seat immediately,following the setting aside of the judgment of the Federal High Court that brought him to office. The appellate court had ordered that Hon. Christian Abah be allowed to replace him on the ground that the allegation of certificate forgery upon which he was barred by the Federal High Court from being inaugurated had never been proven beyond reasonable doubt as demanded by law. 

Hon Hassan Saleh had challenged the eligibility of Christian Abah to stand for the election on the ground that he forged an Ordinary National Diploma certificate in Accountancy purportedly obtained from the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, in 1985. Abah was the unopposed Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the April 11, 2015, election.

A Nigerian worker has suffered cruel fate in the hands of his Chinese supervisor who in anger used a machete to chop off his finger.
A Nigerian worker at the Xin Xin Quarry in Kamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nsikak Tommy has had one of his right fingers chopped off by his Chinese supervisor identified as Njaga Chang for failing to quickly turn on the generator at the quarry site.
According to reports, the 23-year-old Nigerian was initially attacked with a water hose but when he took to his heels, the Chinese man pursued him with a machete before cutting one of Tommy's finger.

ISIS Recruiter Arrested In Kano State By DSS.

Operatives of the State Security Service have arrested one Abdussalam Enesi Yunusa alleged to be a recruiter for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and other terrorist groups.
The SSS through a statement by one of its officials, Tony Okpuiyo, said Mr. Yunusa was arrested in Kano on January 17 after he “completed arrangements to embark on a journey to join an ISIS terrorist training camp in Libya, with other Nigerians whom he recruited for the ISIS.”
