"How I escaped death in a Gas Explosion" - Iveren Yaji. PHOTO

Iveren Yaji shared this heart touching testimony on Facebook ,on her she nearly died from a gas explosion....

And this is how it happened!

On the 6th Sept 2016, I returned back from a ministration, and kept hearing the Holy Spirit telling me to stay in the place of prayer.

I ignored this prompting and went about chatting and carrying out house chores without paying any heed to this alert.

Could it have been familiarity with the Holy Spirit.

Firstly, when I ever I go to warfare, my guards are still up, days after the event, until I get a release in my spirit. That is too say, that I Dont stop fasting, neither do I chit chat until the day I hear the Holy spirit say stop.

In this case I was eating, chatting and carrying out activities like I had gone on vacation. Ignoring several beckoning from the Holy Spirit.

It was unfortunate, but a lesson I will live to remember. This beckoning have been a thin line between life and death in so many situations, and in most of those cases, great accidents have been averted miraculously.

I call it Divine intelligence! No Christian should live their life's without paying heed to this great voice of the Holy Spirit. Ignoring it could lead to death or major disaster.

I was surprised when I looked back at the situation and remember how this Divine intelligence prevented me from being shattered into pieces of flesh by this gas bomb blast.

On that faithful evening, I returned back home and tried to turn on the gas in an industrial oven, and found my self turning on the gas nob, allowing the gas flow out with high pressure into the gas compartment where I had thrown in a lighted match stick.

When I think back, how on earth did I imagine that the more the gas flow, the more the fire circulation. Unknown to me, I was building a bomb waiting to explode.

I can never understand what held that explosion from occurring during the several minutes I was position, face and body, in front of the Industrial oven whilst manipulating the knob.

It came to my shock when I got a word in my spirit saying "LEAVE NOW" and I stepped aside, walking away without understanding why I was leaving the scene, the shock came when I heard a loud sound "BANG" which could be heard mile and miles away.

And Woh! it was an explosion, the pressure of the blast was so much metals could fly with its impact. The force of this explosion threw me from my position to the flow. I laid down with my whole body lighted and set ablaze.

In that instance, I saw the miracle hand of God as the fire which had caught my hair, face, clothe and body suddenly quench by the mention of the name Jesus.

This was a miracle that I can never have the right explanation to give for it, except refer to the miracle power of the name of Jesus.

The impact of this explosion caused the injury you saw in the picture. Things took different tows as i found my self bedridden few days, with pain I can not explain its full concept with the term excruciating.

The next few days were trying as the pain increased causing me sleepless nights, and also causing further irritation on the wound. It got worse and looked like it was infected. The wounds were so bad and trauma so much, snapping it would be the last thing on anyone's mind.

My burnt face began to pill off and provide traumatic discoloration.

When I realised the tune of event, I understood it was a spiritual warfare and ought to be dealt with it as such.

Angry in my spirit, I began to pray demanding for restoration of all I had lost. Joy, Money, sleep e.t.c. I activated Divine healing, and by the next morning, miraculously, the wound which was deep with mucus flowing out suddenly dried in one night.

I was placed on two week dressing in the hospital. After that day was the last time I visited the hospital barely a week after the incident. The healing power of Jesus went through my veins and joint(hands and knee joint) and aligned it. Indeed my joint began to move as supposed as I exercised them.

I will forever be thankful to have a family, both my immediate family and spiritual family rose up in love and support to me.

After a Divine release from the DC family, headed by Rev Sarah Ogbueli represented by pastor Okwi and other women pastors, my resolve to get the best out of this situation came forth.

Days after the visit, I took out all the days I had to lie waiting for perfection of the healing, and began to meditate, pray and study.

My charity works which I abandoned, and handle at my own time suddenly received a closer look. I could actually feel the pain of all those who are lying in the hospital in intense pain with no hope for treatment due to lack of money.

I repented from slumber in carrying out my welfare initiatives for the less privileged which is one of the reasons I am still here on earth.

I have since visited many hospitals, had the opportunity to be a vessel God would use to reach out to the hopeless. There is no case I have encountered that the Lord has not dealt with, providing Divine healing and provision of financial resources.

Indeed our God is faithful. Join me in thanking him for another chance with life.

I would also like it if you join me to make a commitment to be the Voice to the Voiceless, and comfort to weak. As we introduce them God's Love in the demonstration of his power through signs and wonders, Financial , materials and personnel support as the case may be.

Look out for the traumatic cases of young persons like you and me waiting for Jesus to appear in their situation. You and I are the Jesus they can see. He lives in us and is at work through us using our Body.

Oshoala: My passion for football made me drop out of school

Arsenal forward and 2015 African footballer of the year, Asisat Oshoala has said she dropped out of school simply to face her passion of playing football.

The African Women Cup of Nations, AWCON, 2016 golden boot winner revealed that she had no other dream than to play football while growing up.

She said, “My passion for football made me drop out of school. I use to be a tom boy during my child- hood days and everyone around me sees me like a guy. Till date, I still play alongside male footballers in Arsenal and here in Nigeria.”

The forward, however, said she had no regrets dropping out of school because there is still an opportunity to study, noting that those who venture into school do so because they want to get rich and be influential.

“Those that are educated do so because they want to become millionaires. Footballers are also doing same thing.

“At a point I almost regretted snubbing school and my parent were not happy with me but I am a girl of my word.

“I stuck to my dream of playing football. I know what I want and I have a dream of becoming bigger in life and going back to school is important to me.”

10 achievements, failures of Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in 2016

As governor of Nigeria’s commercial and industrial capital, Akinwunmi Ambode is faced with the challenge of satisfying the yearnings of the over 15 million residents of Lagos.

PREMIUM TIMES reviews the top achievements and failures of the governor in the outgoing year.helipad

1. Roads/Light Up Lagos Project – One of the major achievements of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in 2016 was the massive road (re)construction his government embarked upon in the year. His ‘114 Roads’ project where each of the 57 local councils in the state got two good roads was completed by May.

Also, Mr. Ambode’s philosophy that a well lit Lagos will reduce crime also saw him light up at least 365 streets across the state.

2. Security – A few months after he came into office, Mr. Ambode acquired 10 armoured tanks, three helicopters for aerial surveillance and policing, two gun boats, 15 armoured personnel carriers, and dozens of Isuzu trucks. Despite challenges in the area of security, the safety of lives and properties of Lagosians have received – to a large extent – a boost.

3. ETF – After several postponements, Mr. Ambode in December finally began the disbursement of the N25 billion Employment Trust Fund, one of the promises he made during his campaign in 2015. The initiative, aimed at artisans and entrepreneurs in the state, will see the disbursement of N6.25 billion annually over the next four years. A huge chunk of that figure is expected to go to carpenters, tailors, hairdressers, vulcanisers, and other players in the informal sector in the state.

4. LAKE RICE – One of the high points of the Yuletide period for Lagosians was the launch of the Lagos-Kebbi (LAKE Rice). Thousands of residents trooped out to various centres across the three senatorial districts in the state to buy the commodity which sold for N12,000 (50kg bag); N6,000 (25kg); and N2,500 (10kg). It was a much-needed respite for a population that had been reeling under the impact of economic recession.

5. IGR – The recession notwithstanding, 2016 was a year Lagos generated a figure ranked among its highest ever internal revenue. As at December 16, the state had raked in N287 billion in IGR, a whopping N19 billion more than was generated the year before. Except in 2013 when the state generated N384 billion, this year was the highest the state had made since its creation. A revamp of the state’s revenue generation agency played a major role in this feat, but Mr. Ambode also gave credit to tax-paying citizens in the state.

“The tax payers are the ones giving us the little energy that we have and even though when they say Nigeria is in recession, somehow Lagos has been able to do it and it is because people are paying their taxes,” said the governor.

FAILURES

1. Kidnap – In spite of the progress made in the area of security in Lagos State, 2016 was a year of kidnappings. From abducting hapless residents in an obscure estate to kidnapping a traditional ruler, the criminals had a field day across the state. Although over a dozen suspects were arrested and arraigned in different courts, residents are continually on the lookout for the next kidnap victim.

2. Forced eviction – If there was one area Mr. Ambode’s predecessor, Babatunde Fashola, performed excellently in his eight year term, it was the forceful evictions of residents from their homes. The current governor is gradually steering himself towards that tradition.

Despite a court order that the state government suspend its planned demolition of shanties along creeks and waterways in the state, as well as the House of Assembly appealing to the governor to reconsider its intention; the residents of Otodo Gbame, a waterfront community in the Lekki area of the state, were forcefully evicted from their homes. At least half a dozen residents drowned during the process.

Although the state government claimed it was not involved in the eviction, its agents played an active part in the destruction of the homes in Otodo Gbame.

3. Water – In the past, Lagos had manifested the paradox of ‘Water, water everywhere but none to drink.’ The year 2016 was no exception. Despite billions sunk into the state-owned water corporation over the years, piping potable water to homes continues to be a herculean task.

4. LG election – 2016 ended without Governor Ambode conducting election into the 57 local councils in the state, despite repeated promises and assurances to do so. The last local government election in the state was held in 2011. For the past two years, Executive Secretaries appointed by the governor had continued to be at the helm of local government affairs in the state.

5. Traffic congestion – In 2012, Washington-based The Atlantic newspaper described Lagos traffic as one of the worst in the world. Four years later, the only change seems to be more vehicles being registered and fewer roads being constructed in a city of over 21 million people. More than seven million vehicles ply Nigerian roads and one-quarter of them are in Lagos, according to the Federal Road Safety Commission. There is still no functional metro line, and water transportation is still an unpopular mode of transportation for most residents.

Top wanted Boko Haram commander arrested at Borno LG Chairman’s house

Nigerian Army of ‘Operation Lafiya Dole’ in the north east on Friday night made a heavy breakthrough when it arrested a Caretaker Chairman of Mafa Local Government Area of Borno state, Alhaji Shettima Lawan Maina for hiding a top Boko Haram Commander (name withheld) in his house at 1000 housing estate along Maiduguri- Damaturu- Kano road.

Sources have said. The incident according to sources living at the same estate with the Chairman did not come to them as a surprise following the capture of Sambisa Forest, a stronghold of insurgents by troops that led to so many of the terrorists escaped to various places for safety. Mafa Local Government is east and about 40 kilometres drive from Maiduguri the state capital which had witnessed series of deadly attacks by insurgents, before it was liberated by the military early last year.

A resident and neighbours of the LG boss said, the military and some security operatives stormed the house after getting an intelligence report that the top Boko Haram commander had sneaked into the house for safety. Already the source said, both the top Boko Haram Commander and the Chairman have been detained in a military facility to enable thorough investigation as to how a wanted terrorist will sneak into the house of the Chairman, knowing fully well, that politicians of such caliber do not usually allow access to their house of abode.

When contacted for confirmation, the Police Public Relations Officer, Victor Isuku’s phone lines were not reachable, but a top security officer who is not authorized to talk to the press confirmed the incident, stating that “The arrest and capture of the Caretaker Chairman and the wanted boko haram commander took place on Friday night following a tip off”.

2019: Buhari is too old, should give way to a younger person - Bishop Okah

Bishop Simeon Okah, the principal patriarch of the Flock of Christ Mission, Enerhen-Effurun, Delta State, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari isn't fit to contest for the presidency a second time.

In an interview with Vanguard, the Vice President, VP, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, South-South region, said Buhari has nothing else to offer Nigeria.

“The man is an old man, old man is old, I am quite younger than he is. I am 64 years old, do you know that without the younger ones around me, there are some things about this generation that I cannot on my own understand because their way of thinking is very different from my way of thinking, not to talk of a man like Buhari?

“First, Buhari is too old, secondly, he is not educated enough. It pains my heart that just because former President Goodluck Jonathan is from South-South, there was a general hatred against him by the north and maybe the west.

“We, who travel, they were telling us that we were blessed to have a man who has PhD as a president, what does Buhari have apart from him being a general?”

“When he was campaigning, he said he would make one naira to one dollar, but what is the position today, the man has destroyed almost everything he met, everything Jonathan laboured for. Everything is nose-diving in the country.

“Look at the stock exchange. He inherited a stock exchange of over N13 trillion. Today, it is about N8 to N9 trillion. What happened to N4 trillion?

“It is people’s money, so to me, this government, particularly, in my own sense of judgment, there are too many lies and lies go with depression and depression goes with oppression.

“People who are supposed to invest are asking questions, where are the blueprints for his economic programme.? Almost two years are gone, nothing. This is the very first time in our history that it took a president, who won an election over six months to appoint ministers.

“And the people he appointed are the same corrupt people, who had to cross-carpet from PDP to APC; we thought he was going to bring angels from the moon the way he initially spoke about people that would make his cabinet, but finally, they were the same people that we knew in this country.

I was overthrown in 1984 for devaluing the naira – President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has restated his resolve not to devalue the naira or increase the price of fuel.

He made this known in Abuja on Friday night, during the 2016 regimental dinner organized by the presidential brigade of guards.

Buhari also suggested that his refusal to devalue the naira and increase fuel price during his time as Military Head of State in 1984-1985, led to his overthrow.

“I have resisted the devaluation of the naira, increase of the petroleum products, among others,” he told the soldiers and officers.

“When I was military head of state, I rejected similar advice by the IMF and World Bank to devalue the naira.

“I refused and gave my reasons and the next thing I knew I was removed and detained for three and half years.

“As a civilian president, I will do my best and I’m telling you all these because you are part of the leadership of this great country and God willing we will remain great.”

When Buhari assumed office in May 2015, the exchange rate was N197/$1. It currently stands at over N300 to $1 officially and N495/$1 in the black market.
