Herdsmen-Farmers Crisis: Nigerian Students In UK Protest Against Killings

Some Nigerian students at the Cambridge University in England have protested the recent killings in parts of the country as a result of the herdsmen-farmers crisis.

The students, who staged the demonstration on Saturday, decried what they called the government’s indecisiveness in resolving the insecurity challenges in Nigeria.

Bearing placards with different inscriptions, the students demand action to end the killings and justice for the victims of the attacks.

The repeated killings arising from the herdsmen-farmers in parts of the country have continued to become a major concern to the government and the people.

The latest is the attack on some villages in Plateau State which left no fewer than 100 persons dead and has been widely condemned by the government, prominent citizens, as well as various groups in the country.

Global rights group Amnesty International had also claimed on Thursday that at least 1,813 persons have been murdered across 17 states, representing double of the 894 people killed in the entire 2017.

Angelina Jolie In Ralph & Russo Couture – St Paul’s Cathedral

Angelina Jolie attended the 200th anniversary Order of St Michael and St George service at St Paul’s Cathedral on this morning (June 28).

The actress look regal wearing a custom Ralph & Russo Couture dove grey dress with a cowl neckline which was fit for a Duchess.

The classic design, which sat off-the-shoulder in a smouldering manner, was styled with Ralph & Russo ruched gloves, a silver ‘Eden’ classic clutch and ‘Eden’ platform pumps.

Like Ciara, this is another perfect example of how to dress for a royal occasion, even if I could’ve perhaps lived without the gloves.

I know some of you may think this would be perfect for Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, but I think this would be better suited Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge better.

Beyonce Knowles In Ottolinger – ‘On The Run II’ Tour Berlin

The ‘On The Run II’ tour descended onto Berlin’s Olympiastadion on Thursday (June 28) in Germany, with a new look added to Beyonce Knowles’ wardrobe.

It would appear that the singer’s mindset was, “when in Berlin, wear a Berlin brand”.

Ottolinger, a Berlin-based brand, founded by Swiss-born designers Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient, who were semi-finalist of the 2018 LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, created this custom ripped crystal encrusted denim cargo jacket and ripped crystal encrusted ‘multiline’ hot pants combo.

If you are familiar with the brand, you will know that deconstructed garments are part of the brand’s DNA, and that the off-centre front button fastening is one of their signatures.

I’m sure you’re just relieved to see Beyonce isn’t wearing a bodysuit on this occasion, but I’m sure additions to this tour will see them reappear in the future.

Tanker crashes in Cross River State as residents rush to scoop fuel

A fuel tanker crashed in community in Cross River Stateafter veering off the road, and residents of the community rushed to the scene of the accident to scoop fuel for themselves.

Despite knowing the danger involved, residents were seen rushing with their gallons and buckets to scoop fuel from a fallen tanker in Biase local government area of Cross River state.

Moments after the tanker crashed and landed into a ditch, the residents were notified as they rushed to the scene to scoop fuel.

See photos below;

Scooping of fuel from fallen tankers is rampant in Nigeria. Just yesterday some Kogi residents were also seen scooping fuel from a fallen tanker.

Instagram user @frank_chuka took to the platform to share a video of Kogi residents, scrambling to scoop fuel from a tanker which was involved in accident. The video he shared came with the caption;

With all the prayers we are praying in this country and with all the mishaps happening this June, some people will still not make use of their brain. After they would be calling God. Somewhere in kogi state, around Irapana community, a fuel/diesel tanker (we ain’t sure which) had accident, som people with “brain” are busy scooping the highly inflammable substance ON A MAJOR ROAD!!!!!!!! cars are passing, they are busy dragging with their gallons… Lord have mercy. Any little spark now, #pray_for_Nigeria will be flying all over , when we can avoid some circumstances. Biko let’s use our heads Ejoor.
God bless Nigeria. No matter what, we will definitely overcome.

This is coming after the fuel tanker explosion which happened on Thursday on Otedola bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway where at least 9 people were killed and over 50 vehicles burnt. A tanker which was loaded with PMS, had a brake failure while trying to overtake a vehicle before crashing and exploding in the process.

Unfortunately 9 bodies were confirmed dead and recovered from the scene (8 adults and 1 minor) and a total number of 54 vehicles were completely burnt as a result of the inferno.

2019: APC a curse, dump party now – PDP urges Saraki, Dogara, others

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has urged the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara as well as other nPDP members to dump the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2019 elections.

Bauchi state PDP spokesman, Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari, who made this call in an interview with DAILY POST in Bauchi on Saturday, claimed that the APC is a curse to the nation.

Zainabari said there is no going back as the PDP is committed to regain power from Buhari in 2019, stating that poverty and hunger is now wrecking calamity among Nigerians

“Nigerians have since decided to vote out APC administration, that is why PDP is daily receiving decampees to its fold. However, PDP’s strides in its 16 years of government have vindicated it compared to the failed promises of APC,” said Zainabari.

“Honestly, we have lost a lot of lives under Buhari than when the country was under PDP because Nigeria is currently led along religious, tribal and sectional bigotry, yet APC can’t accept its failure. We are not fools,” he added.

According to the PDP spokesman, Buhari must justify the huge allocations of money on security.

“There is an urgent need for the United Nations to probe Buhari for ignoring several calls to sack service chiefs and employ new hands to curb insecurity in the country.

“PDP believes there is something behind why the President refused to sack the service chiefs in spite of the killings with impunity. Their overstay will not save the ruling party in the 2019 elections,” Zainabari added.

He maintained that no amount of use of EFCC, ICPC and security agencies against the opposition will save President Buhari come 2019.

“It’s undemocratic for APC to be using anti-graft agencies to intimidate the opposition to pave way for its success in 2019 as Nigerians have tested the ugly side of the ruling party,” Zainabari concluded.

30 JSS Students Gang Raped During Initiations Into Viron Queens & White Angels Cults

At least thirty female Junior Secondary School (JSS) classes students have been reported raped in the South-East city of Enugu state. The ugly incident is said to have been part of an imitation into various confraternities after passing through initiations that involved gang rape and orgies.

The unsavoury facts came to light in the wake of a mass arrest carried out by the anti-cultism squad of Enugu State Police Command, an exercise that netted 10 students of JSS1 and JSS3, aged 14 and 15 years old. Their subsequent confessions indicated a pattern of systematic and continuous rape of over 30 girls during and after their initiation into various confraternities.

Mohammed Danmallam, the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, revealed the operation was carried out after the Command received a tip-off that students of several Enugu secondary schools––namely Uwawi Girls Secondary Schools, City Girl Secondary School, Met- ropolitan Secondary Schools, New Layout Secondary School and Urban Girls Secondary School––belonged to various cult groups, especially the Viron Queen Confraternity.

According to Danmallam, the Command got from an informant a 30-name list of JSS students who were allegedly raped and initiated into cult groups.

“Anti-cultism detectives visited Urban Girls Secondary School and Metropolitan Girls Secondary School and arrested 10 of the JSS students on June 20. They are now in custody and had confessed their membership of Viron Queen Confraternity,” Danmallam disclosed.

Some of the students were identifiedasNaomiPeace,15, Ruth Nwoke, 14, Chibuogu Adaeze, 15 and Ujunwa Ede, 14. Others were Chiemerie Olisakure, 15, Akalisi Chisom, 14 and Ogbu Ebere, 14.
Unpalatable details

Details of how the girls were debauched by their abusers were explicitly stated in their confessions. The trio of Edeh, Peace and Nwoke told Saturday Sun they were introduced to the cult by a friend and at their initiation in 2017, were raped each by five different boys. “Our Parents didn’t know we are in the Viron Queen Confraternity,” they said.

Another victim, Adaeze, claimed “We didn’t know they put drugs in the drinks they gave us. From there, we were initiated and raped by six boys.”

Olisakure also added: “We were threatened not to tell anybody or our parents. The irony is that at the closing hour of the school, three of the same boys who initiated us would come with bike and take us away to have sex with us. After that, they give us N1,500, as transport fare.”

Chisom, also raped by five boys, said the incident took place at a friend’s party in a hotel where she first met the boys who introduced her to Viron Queen Confraternity and encouraged her to join. Her subsequent initiation, she claimed, involved several other female students from various schools in the New Layout area of Enugu.

She further alleged, “Some of our teachers know that we are members of Viron Queen Confraternity,” adding that: “We don’t respect our male and female teachers. Some of them used the advantage to sleep with us because we don’t want them to tell our parents. We can identify some of the boys who initiated and raped us and threatened us not to tell our parents. We have informed police officers and we hope they will be arrested”.

Some of the girls confessed to indulging in cigarette smoking and drinking beer at parties or clubs. However, they claimed their parents were not aware they had become cultists. While they heed words of advices from their parents, some of them claimed it was difficult to leave the Viron Queens or White Angels.

“We didn’t know that we are in bondage until the anti-cultism policemen arrested us in the school premises,” said Edeh

NGO trains youths to discover selves, career advancement

Some of the youths at the bi-monthly training organised by Youth Initiative for Sustainable Human Development in Africa (YISHDA)

Youth Initiative for Sustainable Human Development in Africa (YISHDA), a Non-governmental Organization on Saturday trained no fewer than 50 youths on self-discovery, emotional intelligence and career advancement.

The workshop is part of the NGO’s bi-monthly training for youths tagged Youths Without Boundaries and targeted at inculcating in the youths the ability to discover themselves and advance better in their chosen career.

Speaking at the event, Mr Moses Agbara, Director of Communication YISHDA, said that the event was in partnership with Hip City Hub.

Agbara said the event was focused on self-discovery as a spur to the general effective output of young people in the society.

He mentioned that the pressure for young people to succeed in workplaces, businesses as well as the aspiration to become entrepreneurs required knowledge and assessment of self.

“Leading `self to greatness’ means young people becoming aware of their strengths, weaknesses, talents, inherent skills, passion, and emotions that they could leverage on through self-discovery.

“However, without unlocking the innate capabilities of self, the overall output of an individual becomes questionable which is a reflection of self.

“Self-discovery will therefore help youths manage external pressures, using their natural abilities to stay positive and productive.

“Fifty youths are being trained on leadership capacity and how to become innovative solution providers in their workplaces and communities,’’ he said.

Agbara stressed that the workshop would guide them in choosing appropriate careers based on their talents, skills and passion and also provide relevant skills to thrive in any entrepreneurial or corporate environment.

Speaking, Mr Bassey Bassey Executive Director, Hip City Hub, said the workshop aims at engaging youths from their natural conservative self to become more expressive and adventurous to attain a level of actualization.

“The training is an experiential one because, we realized the eco system in Nigeria is shrinking; some youths are facing a lot of challenges of not being engaged in productive ventures.

“The training is targeted at how society is evolving, the available market they can venture in and how they can develop themselves to fit into the work environment as entrepreneurs, ‘’ Bassey added.

Miss Blessing Achibong, a participant at the training, commended the organisers, saying: “I have come to realize that I need to discover myself to work in the right environment because; ones personality has a role to play in the person becoming successful and function maximally in life.

Air Peace Reacts To Prophecy On Accident In July

Air Peace on Friday urged members of the public to ignore a recorded voice message warning them not to patronise the airline and some other air and land transport companies.

The airline, in a statement signed by its General Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr Chris Iwarah described the message as fake.

“We would have loved to ignore the message so as not to dignify those behind it, however, we are compelled by the greater need to assure members of the public that the airline is adhering to all safety regulations.

“It is a fake warning put out in the public space by criminal elements and people who do not mean well for the country, particularly airline operators, including Air Peace,” he added.

According to him, the recorded warning has become a recurring but futile and unproductive strategy by unpatriotic individuals to dissuade members of the flying public from patronising the airline.

“Indeed, three years ago, the same faceless individuals recorded a similar message and started contacting us through fronts to make available some amounts of money to them to avert looming danger, which only exists in their imaginations.

“Of course, we refused to yield to their threats and the dates they mentioned came and passed without a hitch.

“We, therefore, wish to reassure the general public that Air Peace is absolutely safe and operating strictly in line with global best practices in the aviation industry.

“The voice warning should be ignored in its entirety, as it is a product of those who have deliberately put themselves at odds with success and safety,” he said

Premium Times sacks reporter over false report on Miyetti Allah

Usman Baba-Ngelzarma , National Secretary Miyetti-Allah

Premium Times, a popular online newspaper, has sacked its Jos-based reporter, Mr. Andrew Ajijah, over a false story credited to Miyetti Allah on the mayhem in Plateau in which 100 people were killed.

The management of Premium Times has also resolved to apologise to Mr. Danladi Ciroma, the North Central leader of the apex cattle breeders’ organisation over the story published on June 25.

The story with the headline, “Killing of nearly 100 people in Plateau ‘retaliatory’ — Miyetti Allah’’ turned out to be false.

The Premium Times had reported that the violence that erupted in 11 villages in some local governments was retaliation by the herders whose cattle were killed.

Mr Ajijah’s report in Premium Times quoted Ciroma as saying: “These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission.”

“Fulani herdsmen have lost about 300 cows in the last few weeks – 94 cows were rustled by armed Berom youths in Fan village, another 36 cows were killed by Berom youths. In addition to that, 174 cattle were rustled.”

Miyetti Allah distanced itself from the report that went viral and the insinuations that it justified the killings of over 100 people in Plateau State.

Ciroma, was reported as saying that the killings were a retaliation of previous acts of deadly aggression against Fulani residents and pastoralists in the state.

PREMIUM TIMES published the alleged statement, which was the first to be attributed to Miyetti Allah in the wake of the chilling massacre.

The denial and strong protest by Ciroma led to an extensive investigation by the respected online newspaper which discovered some infractions on the part of the reporter.

Premium Times therefore stated as follows:

“While Mr Ciroma acknowledged speaking with a reporter on Monday in Jos, he insisted to PREMIUM TIMES that he did not make the statement credited to him. In fact, he said what he told the reporter was the opposite of what was reported.

“I told the reporter that leaders at the local and national levels should come together and resolve this crisis before it is too late,” Mr Ciroma said by telephone Wednesday night, protesting strongly the comments attributed to him.

“An internal investigation by PREMIUM TIMES found that there was no recording of any interview in which Mr Ciroma made the statement, neither was any statement signed or circulated by him that contained the quotes.

“The error was traced to our outstation reporter based in Jos, whose failure to properly attribute the source of the purported statement by Mr Ciroma misled the editors into believing that it was e-mailed to the reporter.

“The reporter filed the story on Monday morning based on ‘a statement’ from Mr Ciroma. But checks by PREMIUM TIMES following Mr Ciroma’s protest on Wednesday afternoon showed that the quotes were lifted from The Nation Newspapers.

“The Nation’s reporter in Plateau State also circulated the quotes in the WhatsApp group of reporters on the government house beat in Jos, telling his colleagues they were the full transcription of his interview with Mr Ciroma.

“The reporter later admitted to PREMIUM TIMES that he did not have a recording of his call with Mr Ciroma, but said the quotes mirrored the Miyetti Allah leader’s position on the latest killings in Plateau State.

“The Nation published the purported quotes by Mr Ciroma hours before our reporter in Jos lifted it without attribution, thus misleading his editors in Abuja.

“PREMIUM TIMES management has initiated an ethics and professional review of the reporter’s work; how it came to be that his sourcing for the story fell below house standards, and how his documentation fails to measure up to expected standards for verification and accuracy.

“Even if Mr Ciroma made the purported statement, newsroom managers agreed yesterday, the expectations would be to report it with proper recording or digital footprints, for the simple reason that ethical journalism places the onus on the reporter to document proof of sources’ contribution to a story.

“When one of the editors on duty called our reporter to find out how the story was sourced shortly before passing it on Monday morning, he said it was personally sent out by Mr Ciroma. This turned out to be the WhatsApp group broadcast by The Nation reporter, which several other Jos-based print and electronic correspondents sent to their respective media organisations throughout Monday.

“This again brings to fore the limits of a common culture in Nigerian beat reporting where correspondents share stories amongst themselves in the manner of pool reporting. While journalists cannot be at two or more events simultaneously, standards in ethical reporting require reporters to ensure thorough verification of any second-hand information”.

PREMIUM TIMES publisher, Dapo Olorunyomi, admitted in a meeting with newsroom senior editors yesterday that the paper was substantially in error with respect to its reporting on Mr. Ciroma’s role in the conflict in Jos.

“This is very much below the standards of verification we strive to maintain and for which we have come to earn the trust of our readers. As a first step, we are sending an apology letter to Mr. Ciroma regretting the mischaracterisation of his role, and assuring him that a disciplinary process is currently apace to ensure accountability for the breakdown in our editorial procedures.”

The controversial attribution to Miyetti Allah came as the media were facing allegations of bias in its coverage of the ongoing killings in the country.

In February, presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu disparaged the media for its coverage of the killings. PREMIUM TIMES largely restrains from using potentially harmful stereotypes or slurs save for where authoritative references have linked an incident to a group pattern.

Berger to Ajah: False Rape Accusation! In Case You Missed It, Read Full Story Here

Recently, a young man, with the Twitter handle @UcheDandyMUFC was accused of rape by one Damilola Marcus who stated that her friend @B_moree was the victim. She had sent a message to Damilola Marcus (@OmogeDami) telling her that Uche raped her after she transported herself from Berger to Ajah to visit him.

See accusation below:

Some years back, this man @UcheDandyMUFC tried FORCING my friend to have sex with him! This is a member of the “not all” crew. A RAPEY FLY is in my mentions telling me not to generalize. https://t.co/VcEDXMxw7x

— Damilola Marcus (@OmogeDami) June 27, 2018

As expected, the accusation spurred an endless conversation on social media, both negative and positive.

The accused young man however got wind of the reports and released a series of chat with all conversations between himself and the supposed rape victim.

His series of tweets below:

First things first…i hate drama so i like to keep my private life private….but when your name gets dragged for no reason…you blur the lines and face the drama you were trying to avoid.

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

Secondly, someone should tell @b_moree_ to unblock me because the drama she sought has found her.

And as such…i am going to address the allegations…

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

Thirdly, i want to apologize to my friends because of this drama…but there is nothing worse than being called a rapist and it cannot be left to speculation.

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

And after i have addressed it…it won’t be mentioned again…it is the price one has to pay for associating with skreps.

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

I have a problem with the people telling me to let it go NOW….when all day my name have been thrown around..

Why should i let it go NOW?

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

First of all, a friend sent me a DM when the allegations came asking what the nonsense was..told him it was a load of crap and he decided he was going to take it up as well…so he engaged @OmogeDami in a DM convo and she babbled meaninglessly…

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

I don’t have her time yet as i would come for her eventually…but in the course of their conversation, she dropped a screenshot of the chat with the girl who said she allowed me have sex after i forcefully tried…now that’s where she dropped the ball…

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

Here are the chats…. pic.twitter.com/wS88GF1UGW

pic.twitter.com/zBPTXX4lCl

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

This was the end of the chat…and then seeing as she made no sense whatsoever… pic.twitter.com/8JnDRWfMlb

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

….i decided to look at the screenshot which was where the 2nd allegation came from and i realized i actually knew who sent it…which happened to be @b_moree_ …result of unfortunate hoeing in times past…here’s how i know…zoom the avi on the screenshot… pic.twitter.com/q8paVOPQ1g

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

And the “B” is also clear….even though @OmogeDami tried to scribble it off…..thankfully i don’t delete conversations anywhere….i don’t end chats….so…..

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

Anyone who knows me knows I would never drop screenshots of chats for any reason…but when you are being accused of rape…you have no choice….in 2016, @b_moree_ and I planned to meet after series conversation, last screenshot was her leaving the next day… pic.twitter.com/mYrC92Nole

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

After meeting her…i totally lost interest after “everything” because she wasn’t what she appeared to be on the timeline…and as such the conversations dwindled….fast forward to a year later….

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

Please how am i a “nice guy” if it wasn’t consensual?? More than once that night?? And as clearly seen in the chat…it was a case of “Girl likes boy, they have sex, boy don’t like girl, girl is angry” But she has the audacity to call me a rapist… pic.twitter.com/6vwFIp6K44

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

Hello @b_moree_ coming for you legally is a waste of my time and resources because you are a SKREP. I am really angry but nah, you do not deserve me coming at you with all that anger….so this is where your story ends…

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

But be rest assured, you called me a rapist…falsely….i am not a violent person but to God who made me, i will drag you by that skinny skrepy waist of yours to the nearest police station if our paths every cross…ANYWHERE.

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

Once again i apologized to my friends who might be offended by this….being called a RAPIST is something you don’t let stick…especially in this time and age…so i am sorry for the drama…it is what preeq wey no dey hear word caused.

— Uche Daniel (@UcheDandyMUFC) June 27, 2018

And as for you @OmogeDami you will have to name the girl who said i tried to forcefully have sex with her…oh you will have to..Lord help you.

In line with the chats, Uche got vindicated as Twitter users came after his accusers.

Uche demanded for an apology as the chats revealed that things got sour between them after the lady felt she was being ignored when she went visiting.

Reacting to Uche’s defence, the ladies claimed that they never said they never accused him of rape.

The friend that also started the story said she actually didn’t accuse him of rape she accused him of ‘forceful coercion.’

B_moree who the chat revealed as Bimbo Cole, asserted that she didn’t want to be raped again as she had already had the bitter experience on two different occasions in her life so when he kept forcing her to do it, she agreed even though it wasn’t something she wanted.

Unfortunately, her tweets are now protected. However, we were able to get what she said after Uche had vindicated himself with screenshots of the chat they had.

See below:

“First thing, I did not accuse Uche of rape, as you can see, I said ‘I allowed him’ I didn’t want to have sex, but I did, because I didn’t want to get raped again.”

Uche who already got vindicated as the chats showed that he was busy on his laptop after the lady went to see him in Ajah from Berger, totally ignoring her has gotten appraisals and congratulatory messages from other men who were also worried he would be wrongly robed into the scandal.

See Nigerians reaction below:

“SARS Is A Terrorist Organisation” – Omojuwa

Political commentator, Omojuwa has taken time to explain why SARS is a ‘terrorsit organisation’. According to him, ‘Terrorism: the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion. Based on this definition, SARS is a terrorist organization. A legal unit of terror’.

He also said, ‘I am absolutely certain highly ranked police officers are using SARS to raise money. No way any police unit is so emboldened to terrorize the people while the IG and his fellow mannequins look on’.

I am absolutely certain highly ranked police officers are using SARS to raise money. No way any police unit is so emboldened to terrorize the people while the IG and his fellow mannequins look on.

— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) June 29, 2018

These SARS terrorists are very strategic. They don’t arrest people in Ikoyi, Lekki, Maitama etc, they go to places they feel their potential victims would be helpless. SARS has to rank as a major terrorist organization right now. Their main advantage is that they are legal.

— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) June 29, 2018

In the experiential sense, SARS is a terrorist organization.

— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) June 29, 2018

In terms of its perception by Nigerians, SARS is a terrorist organization.

SARS used to be Special Anti-Robbery Squad. The A is officially dead now.

They are like the regular terrorists. They target mostly powerless people. https://t.co/twyK3gmKK5

Tekno Paid Danfo Drivers N2m For Jogodo – Prof. Linkin

The controversies surrounding Tekno’s recent hit track, Jogodo seems not to be over any time soon, as Prof. Linkin has claimed that he compensated Danfo Drivers but did not reach out to him.

Danfo Drivers had previously expressed their dissatisfaction that Tekno did not reach out to them before releasing the track Jogodo, though the singing duo later said he has done the needful.

In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, Prof. Linkin said his issue with Tekno is far from being over till the artiste also acknowledges him as the originator of the word, Jogodo, which was the name of his album in 2003.

He also said he heard that the Danfo Drivers were placated with N2m for the song when they raised dust. Prof. Linkin said;

“I am the owner of that song ‘Jogodo’ and I hold the copyright to the name, ‘Jogodo’. Tekno did not inform me before he released the song and the funniest part is that after he made the song and Danfo Drivers complained, he went to meet them to apologise but ignored me.

In fact, it was not until Danfo Drivers began to grant interviews to the press stating that Teknodid not inform them before releasing the song that he reached out to them after an event.

“Danfo Drivers are my friends and immediately the news broke that they had made peace with Tekno, I called them and asked why they did not tell him that I am the originator of ‘Jogodo’ but they gave me some excuses and claimed that the singer did not give them anything.

I am not dead, so why would someone want to take something I worked hard to get. I am the originator of ‘Jogodo’ in the whole world.

I am the only one that can tell people the real meaning of the word ‘Jogodo’. I heard rumours that Teckno paid Danfo DriversN2m.

As my friends, I asked them if it was true and they denied it. When I called to ask them, they said that he did not give them anything than apology.

They claimed that they sat down, had some drinks, chatted and took pictures. If they are lying, God is watching them because I cannot read their mind.”

Prof. Linkin further said that because they are colleagues, he would not take the case to court but he advised the singer to reach out to him and make amends.

“I’m Not Praying For Nigeria” – Peeshaun Skuki

Peeshaun, one half of music duo, Skuki has slammed those advocating for prayers for Nigeria.According to him,Nigeria doesn’t need prayers it needs her citizens to have sense and a good heart.

He wrote:

“If anybody sends me a ‘PRAY FOR NIGERIA’ post again, I swear I’ll block you.
Right now Nigeria doesn’t need you to pray for her, Nigeria needs you to have SENSE and a GOOD HEART.
.
I have already prayed for Nigeria, and GOD HAS LONG ANSWERED MY PRAYERS.
God has told me to go out there and be kind to the next man!
God has told me to consider the safety of my fellow man in anything I am doing. He has told me to be fair to my fellow man in life and business.
.
HIS PROTECTION over me is enough for me, I do not need to CURSE and BIND any enemies.
How can you join hands and fight for a better Nigeria, when you see all your neighbors as potential enemies.
Can’t you see that 95% of your PASTORS PREACH HATE MORE THAN THEY PREACH LOVE?
.
They preach MONEY more than they preach GOD.
.
Like I said before, we are still under-estimating how much we need to come together and fight for our safety and future”.

BREAKING: Saraki Calls For Removal Of Incompetent Security Chiefs

Senate President Bukola Saraki says drastic action has to be taken to end the killings in the country and protect Nigerians

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has called for the removal of “incapable” security chiefs in the country over the continued killings and security challenges bedeviling the nation.

Dr Saraki made the call on Saturday when he paid a visit to communities affected by a rainstorm in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Hundreds of Nigerians have been killed several parts of the country in 2018 alone and Saraki believes no society should witness such as situation and carry on as usual.

“This is not something to be politicised. If somebody is not capable and cannot do what he has to do, let others have the opportunity to do it,” a visibly angry Saraki said before accusing the security chiefs and agencies of failing to work together.

“We have had situations where security officials have told us there is poor coordination. One, A is not talking to B, Be is not talking to A. They don’t attend meetings jointly and things need to be done.

“Let us forget the issue of party, these are lives of people – and let’s remove politics. It is not about who is the Speaker of the House, who is the President of the Senate. It is about Nigeria.”

But for the “politicisation of issues”, the Senate President said the warnings of the National Assembly about the dangerous trend in the country would have been since heeded and changes made.

“As you know, the National Assembly under my leadership, many months back, had seen this danger, called for a security summit, we had addressed the issue of security architecture. We had said that there is definitely a failure of the security architecture of the country,” the Senate President said.

To address the alleged failure, the National Assembly had invited security chiefs, especially the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, but were unhappy with the response they got.

He said, “You are all very aware that some service chiefs decided in their own wisdom that there is no need for them to work with the National Assembly to address these issues.

“There is no society that continues to see the kind of killings here and think that it should be business as usual. It requires drastic action, it requires a collaboration of all agencies and all arms of government for us to be serious.”

REVEALED: Boko Haram’s leader Abubakar Shekau critically ill

Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the terror group Boko Haram, is said to be weakened by ill health, prompting questions about his ability to lead the militants.

The sources said Shekau has a range of conditions that have left him “too weak to be in charge” of the jihadists, whose insurgency has killed at least 20,000 in Nigeria since 2009, the AFP reported on Friday.

“He has high blood pressure and failing sight from diabetes-related complications,” said one source with close knowledge of the group’s activities.

A senior security source tracking the conflict, who also asked not to be identified because he was not authorised to speak to the media, described Shekau’s diabetes as “debilitating”.

“He suffers from diminished eyesight from cataracts or glaucoma as a result of diabetes,” he added.

The source with knowledge of Boko Haram’s activities said Shekau and his lieutenants have been in talks this week about his “failing health” and whether he was well enough to lead.

Boko Haram split in mid-2016 over ideological differences.

One faction, headed by Abu-Mus’ab Al-Barnawi, whose father Mohammed Yusuf founded Boko Haram, won the support of the Islamic State group.

Some experts suggested that with Shekau off the scene, the different groups could be reconciled.

Shekau used to appear frequently on video messages from the group, particularly at the height of the conflict, when Boko Haram ran riot across northeast Nigeria, seizing territory.

The Nigerian authorities have claimed Shekau has died or been killed on at least three occasions, and that he has been replaced by a series of lookalikes.

Shekau’s last appearance on camera was in a 14-minute video released on February 6 in which he claimed responsibility for attacks in Borno state capital, Maiduguri, and other towns.

He was previously seen on January 15 in an 11-minute video in which some of the remaining Chibok schoolgirls who were abducted in 2014 vowed never to return to their parents.

Both sources said between February and April last year, Shekau was bed-ridden in Bulayaga, a village in the Konduga area of Borno, near his group’s Sambisa Forest stronghold.

Bulayaga is some 35 kilometres (22 miles) from Maiduguri.

“No-one thought he would survive because he was terribly sick from diabetes and malaria,” said the security source.

Shekau resurfaced in a video published on May 4, 2017, rejecting claims he had been injured in a Nigerian air strike the previous day at the nearby village of Balla.

“I’m alive, I’m alive, I’m alive,” he said.

But in it, he looked frail and appeared to have difficulty reading from a prepared speech, which he held close to his face in an apparent indication of vision problems.

The August 2016 split caused bitter in-fighting and saw Shekau lose men, territory and weapons.

Barnawi, whose group operates in northern Borno around the shores of Lake Chad, is now seen as “more in charge”, said the source.

Yan St-Pierre, counter-terrorism advisor and head of the Modern Security Consulting Group, said Shekau’s removal would only have a “limited” effect internally and on operations.

“Most terrorist organisations always have a ‘next man up’ planned because leadership could be lost at any time,” he said in emailed comments.

“The myth of Shekau” could also remain as a “galvanising factor” for Boko Haram fighters, he added.

The security source suggested the removal of Shekau “could signal the mending of fences between the two factions”.

“Shekau has been the major wedge to reconciliation between the factions and if he resigns, the prospect of a truce and merger between the factions is high,” he added.

Ryan Cummings, Africa security analyst at the Signal Risk group, agreed the two sides could move closer but also suggested it could trigger a power struggle in the high command.

That “could trigger further violent factionalism”, he added
