Male sexual abuse survivor recounts his ordeal in the hands of a christian mother, how she gave him STI, how he was taunted by people who didn't believe him and how his abuser got away

His name is Okenyi Kenechi, he is a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, has recounted how he was raped by a staunch church goer. However according to him, nobody believed him, and the lady who abused him got away with that.

At some point he got suicidal because of the trauma that experience caused him, but the counselor who should have helped him, however choose to ask him if he "enjoyed it".
His story below:

"There is this woman that lives in our area. She would come to our house and tell my mother to allow me to go and play with her children. I was barely 8 and I was in primary 3 or so. She would buy biscuits and sweet for me. Once we got to her house, she would lure me to her room, spread her legs and ask me to start sucking her vagina. It went on for days and she told me that anytime I tried telling anyone, that my navel will dry up. My mother would never imagine that I was doing the work of her husband for her.
I caught infections on my lips.

My mother took me to a chemist shop. The man, after examining me, told my mother to take me to the hospital. My father was away, for months. The doctor, I was made to understand, told my mother that such infections could only be gotten through oral sex and with tears in my mother's eyes, I had to tell her everything.

My mother confronted the woman. We both worshiped in the same church. She denied and said that I was lying against her. That she took me as her own child and would never do such a thing to me. Some people heard about it and took sides with the woman and believed her. Others closed their ears and did the sign of the cross. Her husband was wealthy as at then and they were prominent features in our local church, especially during bazaars and other launching.

People, mothers, fathers said I was accusing her falsely. I wondered how I could have made up such a gory tale as at that age and so, I was heckled, laughed at and made fun of. I stopped going to school for a while when I couldn't bear the sneers from people I knew as fellow church members or friends. My mother was helpless. She did the best she could but they told her to forgive and leave everything to God. She took me to a priest who prayed for me and told her not to allow me go to school on my own for a while. My elder brother became my bodyguard to school. The first day I resumed school, one boy tried to make fun of me. I kicked him in the stomach and he collapsed.

When my father got back, he heard about it, he wanted to act and they told him not to open healed wounds and he too, handed everything to God. 1997 was the year, and I have lived with that scar ever since . My abuser escaped justice. Not even a strand of her hair was removed. I still see her wrinkled face anytime I visit home.

One of the older guys that lived at that Ugwu Achara in Nsukka then, I didn't know he still remembered how the whole thing played out, called me some 5 years ago and asked if I could meet with some specialists that can help people like myself who were abused at younger age, I said yes and travel from Port Harcourt to Abakiliki to meet with them. During the cross examination, one of the so-called specialists said something equivalent to "did you enjoy it?". I left the place almost immediately, went back to my Friend's house and felt suicidal for days. Those who have never been dealt with psychologically may not understand.

There was no menist group that have stood up for people like myself. Maybe because I am a boy and boys don't bleed when they are sexually abused or because we are just expendables. And so, we carry our baggage ourselves and try whichever method will heal us faster. If we succeed, we live to tell the story. If we don't, we die with our story.
Those dark days, I dreaded going to church and will always walk behind my mother. My younger brother was just 2 then and he took the whole attention. I was at the mercy of my older siblings who had little understanding of what I was passing through. I was seen as a small devil who could accuse one of the holiest women in church then of such a crime. The society failed me and it has continued to fail vulnerable children who are victims of abuse.

In a small group I joined during my undergraduate days, Peer Educators, firsthand stories abound of people, broken men and women abused by their older siblings, house helps, clergymen, family friends and random people who drugged young girls and raped them, young boys sodomized or raped through the anus. 90 percent of their abusers escaped justice.

So, what are you doing to ensure the safety of your children, of your younger siblings and all the vulnerable children around? Pedophiles abound, looking for young preys to devour. Some of us survived the psychological damage and have moved on with our lives. However, you need to hear our stories so you can understand that a child needs to be protected no matter the gender. I would teach my children to report any form of abuse the first day it happens. It is our problem and we can solve it."

Breaking: DSS arrests Ifeanyi Ubah over N11b oil theft

Ifeanyi Ubah

Ifeanyi Ubah, the managing director of Capital Oil and Gas Limited has been arrested by the Department of State Services.
The agency revealed the arrest today in a statement by spokesman, Tony Opuiyo.

Opuiyo aid Ubah was arrested on Friday in connection the theft of petrol kept in his tank farm in Lagos by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. The product was valued at over N11 billion.

The agency said Ubah’s action amounted to economic sabotage, with “capacity to negatively impact on national economy”.

Opuiyo gave additional reasons for Ubah’s arrest. He said he has further engaged in other activities inimical to national security and public order.

“In furtherance of his gimmicks to undermine the government and people of Nigeria, he has incited members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD), a critical player in the downstream sub-sector of the Petroleum Industry, to refuse/stop the lifting of products.

“This is part of his plans to curry their sentiments and cause them to embark on strike and also stage protests in his favour with the ulterior motive of arm-twisting the NNPC to abandon the cause of recovering the stolen products. The implications of this on law and order is, in fact, a common knowledge. It is consequent upon this that the Service arrested and will prosecute him forthwith.

” The public is hereby reassured that the Service will collaborate with appropriate agencies to ensure that the mischievous activities of any person or group(s) to engage in illegal activities will not affect the effective distribution of products across the country. It will also support such agencies to bring to book individuals or companies involved in any criminal act that undermines the nation’s economy”.

I still want to call Davido a motherf*cker if I had the chance – Kaffy

Dancer and choreographer, Kaffy has said she did not apologize to singer Davido for calling him a motherf_cker for reportedly disrespecting dancers.

In an early morning Instagram rant last year, Kaffy had decried the shoddy manner dancers are treated after Davido allegedly shunned some dancers at Three Thrones concert.

In an interview with Punch, the dancer said she apologized for the language she used and not to Davido.

Kaffy, who is a Guinness World record holder added that she would like to call the singer a mother_cker again if she gets the chance.

She said, “I did not eat my words, I swore in public and I apologised for swearing in public, I did not apologise to Davido. I did not apologise for his behaviour but for the words I used in public. If it is not because of the kind of brand that I am building, I still want to call him that name if I had the chance. Whatever it is, he has apologised. I did not need to make the apology public. He has apologised and has started treating dancers better which is the most important thing for me.”

Asked if she can work with him, she said, “That is up to God but I can never say never but if we work together now, there is a better understanding on how not to mess up with business.”

Militants invade Nigerian marine police base

Suspected militants who have held Ogun riverine communities hostage for months have attacked the marine police base in Iwopin community in Ogun Waterside local government area, killing one policeman.

The victims was identified as Segun Akinola, a sergeant.

The heavily armed militants stormed the base on Thursday night, and shot two other policemen, witnesses say. The attackers left with a police gun boat.

A police official who escaped the attack said they could not fight back as they were “ill-equipped”.

“The militants were armed to the teeth. They arrived the Marine Base and started shooting. They killed a Marine police man who was on duty; one Sergeant Segun Akinola,” he said.

“Two other policemen were shot and they were rushed to the hospital. It is sad that the marine base which is one of the oldest in the country is not equipped. That is why the militants can attack successfully. The militants went away with a police speed gun boat in the base.”

The attack came two weeks after militants attacked a businessman and killed three vigilante members in the community.
The chairman of the Ogun Waterside local government area, Femi Onanuga, expressed sadness over the repeated attacks.

“These attacks are reoccurring almost every week and it is sad that we are losing civilians and policemen. People are fleeing from Ogun Waterside local government. We are appealing to the government to urgently come to our rescue,” he said.

The spokesperson for the Ogun State police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the killing. He said he was going to the scene to have a first-hand information.

A source revealed that the militants had sent a letter to the community two weeks ago to inform the police that they would be attacking.

Group chides Gov Ortom over Suswam's incarceration.

A group under the aegis of PDP Strategic Reformation Group (PSRG) has accused the Benue State Governor Dr. Samuel Ortom of masterminding the continued detention of former governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam by officials of the Department of State Security Services DSS even as it called for his immediate unconditional release. Leader of the group and former member of the Benue State House of Assembly Honourable Kenneth Iyo, made this known during a press conference it held in Makurdi today. He described as undemocratic and barbaric the continued detention.

of Suswam for over two months without charging him to court over what he said was trumped- up charges saying, it negated the principle of fair hearing and rights of citizens as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution. He said that the main reason for the desperation to have the immediate governor incarcerated was target at clipping the wings of the PDP ahead of the local council elections in the state scheduled for June 3rd, 2017. He said the PDP had in the past one year been growing owing to the abysmal style of governance been witnessed in the state under the Ortom led administration and hence the fear of it been rejected at the polls by the Benue electorates.

“Recall that the former. governor of Benue state .Gabriel Suswam was arrested by the DSS February 25TH 2017 exactly 57 days today without being charged to court or released on bail, that is a government that is fighting corruption. The continued detention of Suswam amounts to a violation of his fundamental human rights as stipulated in the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria as various acts and articles of the African charter on human and people’s rights and laws of the federal republic of Nigeria.

Girl power!Amber Rose whips her famous curves around.PHOTOS.

Amber Rose whipped around town on a mini-bike/motorcycle yesterday in LA, and although she was wearing a helmet, we would recognize those famous curves anywhere!

The feminist warrior isn't afraid to be outspoken, and she's single handedly taken back the term slut... in a good way. So how does she define the once offensive slang term?

"Most people think the definition of a slut is a promiscuous woman who has sex with any and everyone in exchange for money, gifts and/or just genuinely loves sex. But that’s not the definition at all. It’s just a derogatory word that insecure men and women use against other women when they’re uncomfortable with their beauty, sexuality or confidence. I used to let those words hurt me but now I embrace all the derogatory labels with open arms. I've helped so many women around the world do the same," she wrote on Instagram.

Kanye Deletes His Twitter And Instagram

Kanye West mysteriously deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts, and fans are wondering why. It's not like he posts a bunch, but perhaps this is his latest move to live a more under the radar lifestyle? He skipped the Met Gala because he wasn't ready to hit a red carpet, and he's been largely out of the spotlight since his October breakdown.

Maybe he was advised by his doctors that paying attention to social media wasn't the best thing for his mental state? Or he simply wanted to make headlines the same day his kids clothing line with wife Kim Kardashian dropped?

NHRC briefs Nigeria's Attorney Gen on its activities.

The Hon. Attorney General of the Federation (HAGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) has expressed the readiness of his Ministry to provide necessary support needed in the pursuit of promotion of accountability for human rights violations in the Country.

The HAGF made this known while receiving a delegation from the National Human Rights Commission who paid him a working visit at the Justice Ministry in Abuja.

The Minister who expressed delight over the visit said it was timely and that his office is interested in identifying and working with relevant bodies to address cases of human rights violation especially the issue of suspects in custody.

Mr. Malami revealed that the Justice Ministry in collaboration with the Military and the Office of National Security Adviser have concluded the profiling of insurgents in custody in Kainji, Niger state and will soon commence the trial in court, of those found culpable.

The Attorney General said the essence of the profiling of the insurgents in custody is for proper identification and location should any need arise for them to be traced after they may have been tried and released from custody.

The Minister disclosed to the NHRC delegation that about five hundred insurgents in custody at Giwa Barracks in Borno State have been relocated to prison custody to decongest the detention facility in the barracks while efforts are being made to fast-track their prosecution.

Mr. Mallami assured the Commission of his willingness to push necessary Council Memo on the National Action Plan for the Promotion and Protection of Human Right to the Federal Executive Council for consideration and adoption.

Earlier in her remarks, the Acting Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission said the purpose of the working visit was to among other things brief the Minister on the activities of the Commission particularly with regard to NHRC/Military dialogue and to seek his collaboration in several areas of its work including speedy processing of insurgents awaiting trial in military detention facilities.

While commending the gallantry of the Nigerian Military in containing the insurgency, Mrs. Ovrawah called on the Hon. Attorney General to use the instrumentality of his office to hold accountable, Military officers who in one way or the other are guilty of violating the rights of civilians during the counter insurgency operations in the North East.

Mrs. Ovrawah revealed that the Commission in collaboration with the European Union is carrying out a project on promoting accountability for human rights violations in counter insurgency operations in the North East. She said the military is being trained under the project to mainstream human rights into their operations.

While appreciating the AGF for receiving the NHRC delegation and pledging to present the National Action Plan to the Federal Executive Council, the Acting Executive Secretary said the Commission is also presently collaborating with Mac Arthur Foundation in investigating hate speeches and electoral violence in the country. “Those indicted will be recommended to the HAGF for prosecution or other necessary action” she said.

It would be recalled that the Commission’s project on hate speech and election violence is aimed at advocating for the establishment of election offences Commission in line with the Justice Uwais Electoral Reform Panel which was also recently recommended by Chief Ken Nnamani Panel with the aim of handling cases of hate speech and election related violence.

"Why Are Guys Scared Of Dating Cele Babes?"

A nairalander posted this on nairaland,he said

"I observed that it's all superstitions and stereotype. I once dated a babe (who used to attend celestial church) for 2 years. In fact, she belonged to the class that "catches spirit during their service".

I do leave her in my flat and go to work, during which she cooks the food that we eat, when I'm back home. And sometimes, she brought food from her house for me, which i eat.

During the two years, i told her that i wasn't going to take the relationship beyond dating. Though she wanted marriage between us, i insisted on my decision. And when it's time for me to move on, i ended the relationship gradually.

I was attending Pentecostal church then. We parted ways without any serious quarrel. She's doing fine now. And I'm doing good too."

Girl jumps off 3rd floor of building because of heartbreak.

A tomboy with relationship troubles was injured after she jumped off the third floor of a building in Phuket Town, Thailand on Friday morning, May 5th.

This is the second case of its kind within two days – the first incident took place early morning yesterday when another lesbian nearly drowned in the sea at Saphan Hin

“Today's incident took place at Sarita Mansion in the Poonpon area at about 11am. The 21-year-old tomboy, ‘Rat’, was sitting at the edge of the roof of the apartment building. Rescue workers tried to persuade her not to jump, while other team members rushed to set up an air mattress and arranged for a cable car to get up there,” Phuket City Police Superintendent Komol Osiri told Phuket Gazette reporters.

Rat reportedly refused to listen to anyone and lowered herself to hang off the edge instead.

“She held on for about three minutes and then let go, hitting her head on an air-con unit and falling to the ground unconscious. She was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital,” he added.

Sarita Mansion staff told police that she had been living at the apartment for about one month and had had an argument with her girlfriend at about 3am this morning. Her girlfriend had then left for work.

“She wrote a letter before going up to the roof. The letter stated that Rat was done with the relationship. However, we will question her girlfriend first before closing the case,” said the superintendent.
