Seven parents of the abducted female pupils of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, have reportedly died of trauma after three months of the abduction of their children by the dreaded Boko Haram sect.
The National Chairman of Chibok community under the Kibaku Area Development Association, Dr. Pogu Bitrus, gave this sad news on Friday at a news conference in Abuja. He said the Boko Haram foot soldiers had killed 229 people in 15 attacks on Chibok community. Bitrus said the Federal Government was yet to provide adequate security in Chibok area since the girls were abducted, despite the endless attack on the community by the outlawed sect. Bitrus said, “Today (Friday) is 81st day since the abduction and in spite of the firm categorical statements by the Chief of Defence Staff that the location of the girls was known to the government, the appalling situation and agony encompassing the unfortunate abduction saga and detention of the Chibok girls by the Boko Haram insurgents continues and the rescue efforts by the government is yet to yield any result. “So far, Boko Haram has carried out 15 attacks on the Chibok (Kibaku) nation involving 19 villages with over 229 killed and over 100 injured. Some of the victims of the attacks are parents and relations of the abducted girls and thereby adding more pains to the traumatic condition in the Chibok community. “While the situation persists, many distressed parents are dying of heart attack and frustration as their dejection had become unbearable. On record, seven parents have lost their lives due to the trauma of the situation,” he added

An overpass collapsed in the Brazilian World Cup host city of Belo Horizonte on Thursday, killing at least one person and injuring 10 more, an emergency official said.
Television images showed part of a passenger bus crushed under the overpass and news website G1 said another two trucks and a vehicle were also smashed.
The accident site is around 3 km (2 miles) from the Mineirao stadium, where a World Cup semi-final match will be held next Tuesday. The stadium has already hosted five games
A fire department official told GloboNews that at least one person was killed and 10 injured. A spokeswoman for the Belo Horizonte fire department told Reuters there were reports of several injuries, although she would not confirm the death.
The overpass was one of the many infrastructure projects aimed at improving the city’s ailing public transport network. The bridge was to be used as for passenger buses in a system known as BRT/Move, considered a legacy project from the World Cup.
Heavy government spending on the World Cup and long delays in finishing promised infrastructure projects have spurred violent street protests in Brazil over the past year, although they have died down in recent weeks.

Tragedy struck the home of former NHRC member and human rights activist/Lawyer Kunle Fadipe, early Friday morning , 4th July, 2014 as he was murdered in cold blood in front of his house.
According to reports, the suspected killer followed the deceased to his residence at Harmony Estate at Ifako in Ifako Ijaiye Local Government and attacked with a dagger stabbing him to death in the process.
We learnt that it happened in his deceased’s residence friday morning that it was one of his children who alerted the security at the main gate of the estate leading to the arrest of the suspected killer. He is currently being detained at the Red Brick police station, Iju.
Fadipes’ residence was throwninto mourning and the house has been sealed off while the entire family members have been evacuated to an unknown destination.
It is allerged that the assailant came from Abeokuta. He was reported to be after the laptop computer of the deceased lawyer.
The Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, has given automatic employment to over 200 graduating students of the Lagos State College of Health Technology.The governor, who is the Visitor of the college, made the declaration during his address at the second convocation ceremony of the institution in Yaba, Lagos, on Thursday.Fashola in his address reminded the students of the importance of their profession to society.He said, “Health workers, from the lowest to the highest, are like gods on earth. If you have not been ill before, you will not understand their importance. I have been ill, so I know what I am talking about.”He wondered why health practitioners, whose primary duty was to save lives, should embark on industrial action.“Health practice is a call to service, service to God and the community. If you are like gods on earth, why then should you go on strike? Imagine if God goes on strike. Imagine if the police, military or fire service should go on strike.“Take the police for example – it is not as if all is well with them. You (the graduates) must make a choice between self and saving lives. You should endeavour to put your patients, whose life you are supposed to save, into consideration.”On the issue of full autonomy for the institution earlier raised by the Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council, Dr. Abiola Tilley-Gyado, Fashola said he would welcome any proposal that would ease the state government’s burden of having to concern itself with the daily affairs of schools.He, however, cautioned that autonomy did not mean that the government would cede ownership of the institution.This, according to him, is because the government in most cases would still be called upon, if any problem should arise.The Chairman of the college’s Governing Council had earlier advised the graduands to be dedicated to their profession, so as not to waste the many years of training they had received.The College graduated a total of 265 students from five schools namely, Environmental Health, Community Health, Medical Laboratory Technician, Pharmacy Technician and Health Information Management.The graduands are for the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 academic sessions.

Her husband Hi-Five Singer Russell Neal has been charged with murder after stabbing her to death.

Hi-Five singer Russell Neal’s wife was killed after being stabbed multiple times and he’snow been charged with murder.
Cops say Catherine Martinez died from blunt force trauma and stab wounds.
The victim was a hot, 24-year-old fitness model. She was also an aspiring boxer who went by the name Brasilia.
The 40-year-old Neal went to the police station Wednesday and told cops his wife was dead in their apartment and he needed a lawyer.
The couple has 2 kids. Law enforcement sources say there were no witnesses to the murder so it appears the children were not in
the apartment when their mom was killed. Neal is currently in custody on $100K bond.

A soldier was allegedly killed by a BRT bus.Soldiers are on a rampage along Ikorodu Road in Lagos destroying BRT buses, residents have said.
The soldiers’ actions was said to be caused by a BRT bus that allegedly run a soldier over at
