23 Year Old Lebanese Man Arrested For Kidnapping His 61 Year Old Aunt.

A 23-year-old Lebanese, who was arrested for kidnapping his 61-year-old aunty, told journalists on Thursday that he committed the crime to punish her.
The suspect, Mohammed Dannawi, said he kidnapped the victim, Alhaja Essa Dannawi, not because of money but because she offended him and his wife.

He said he carried out the evil act with a former employee of his aunt, Obi Kwentua, to whom he gave the spare key to her house.
He said, “My aunty did something very bad to my wife and I and so I decided to punish her. I met with Obi (Kwentua) and told him that I wanted my aunty kidnapped. I gave him the spare key to her house and he in turn hired some boys to do the work.

“On the day of the operation, I left the house and five guys stormed the place and took my aunty away. The plan was not to demand money from her, it was just punishment.”

It was learnt that the kidnappers, however, demanded N100m ransom but later agreed to collect N4m. It was while attempting to collect the ransom that one of the suspects was arrested.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said after Essa went missing, policemen started by interrogating members of her immediate family.

She said Mohammed confessed and through his cooperation, his aunty was rescued.

She said, “On May 2, 2013, at about 3:15am, a Lebanese woman, Essa Dannawi, who is 61 years old, was kidnapped at her residence at 40, Abule Nla Road, Ebute Meta and the case was transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. The officer in charge, Abba Kyari, had an extensive interview with members of her family and her nephew (Mohammed) was arrested on May 9.

“Upon interrogation, he confessed to organising the kidnap because his aunt offended him. SARS operatives used him to arrest his accomplice (Kwentua) at Rita Lori Hotel, Surulere, where he came to collect N4m from the relatives of the victim. She (Essa) was later released at Oyingbo area.”
It was learnt that the other suspects were still at large.

Governors Who Helped Amaechi Get Re-Election Describe Election As Free And Fair.

It was almost a carnival on Friday night in Abuja, Nigeria's capital, as opposition and some PDP governors went into jubilation when Governor Rotimi Amaechi was re-elected the Chairman of Nigeria's Governor's Forum against the expectation of President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP cabal.

The Governors who helped Amaechi to overcome the huddles and emerge victorious have been speaking on what actually went down behind the scene.
Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has confirmed that the re-election of Chibuike Amaechi as chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, was free, fair and transparent. He said that all the Governors present voted during the election.
Apparently reacting to the claims by the supporters of President Jonathan that Jonah Jang, governor of the troubled Plateau State, won the election, Governor Fayemi said:

“Before they go out to address the press that they did not vote, let me tell you that all of them voted in a transparent manner and they were defeated.”
You may wish to know that Governor Amaechi has thanked Nigerians and the media for standing on the side of TRUTH in the process leading to the election. He promised not to fail Nigerians.

Asari Dokubo Threatens To Kidnap Prof Ango Abdullahi And Bring Him To The Creeks.

The war of words between some leaders of the oil-rich Niger Delta and some individuals in the North over President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election in 2015 has been reduced to personal threat between former President of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, and leaders of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPV, Alahji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari and the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum,NEF, Alhaji Ango Abdullahi as Asari had said he would go after Abdullahi, catch him and bundle him to the creeks of the Niger Delta, if any crisis emerge after or before the election.
Asari, who said that Abdullahi is hungry and looks malnourished said: “He is so hungry and looks malnourished.
“He should thank God that it is somebody like Goodluck Jonathan that is the president. If not for Goodluck, by now, I would kept him where he belongs. He should continue to run his mouth and pray for crisis, because when the crisis starts, I promise him, on my honour, that I will cross into the enemy’s territory, and personally go after him wherever he is, whether in a hut, under the bed, in caves or any hole he will be hiding. I will catch him and bring him to the creeks of the Niger Delta.
“I will catch him like a common criminal in any part of the world he will run to and bring him to justice for having stolen the resources and wealth of my people. He will never go free if there be crisis. He should pray to Allah. Ango Abdullahi will never go free if the crisis he is wishing for begins. It’s a promise.” Asari said.
It would be recalled that Abdullahi described Dokubo-Asari as a coward who would flee in the event of war.
According to him, “Dokubo is a coward who will flee in event of war.“From the antecedents of Asari Dokubo, we believe that he is making these empty boasts apparently because of the filthy lucre he is getting from the pipeline contracts and the promise of more. But we can bet Nigerians that he would be the first person to flee to the creeks if the war he is threatening, breaks out.

Late Cynthia Osokogu's Autopsy Report Shows That She Died From ASPHYXIA.A Condition Of Absence Of Oxygen Supply To The Body.

As the trial of the murder of Cynthia Okosogu continues in Lagos, more witnesses have being testifying in the ongoing trial of her suspected killers, the latest and shocking is from the Lagos Sate University Teaching Hospital. The consultant pathologist , Professor John Obafunwa, on Friday stated that the late Cynthia’s Osokogu’s mouth was stuffed with a black and yellow hair net, a white handkerchief and the attachment of the Weaveon she fixed before her mouth was taped.
Professor Obafunwa revealed this while showing pictures of the autopsy activities on the late Cynthia from the beginning to the end of the procedure before Justice Olabisi Akinlade of a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State.
The pathologist, who was testifying as a prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of the suspected killers of Cynthia Osokogu, stated that the killers taped her mouth from the mouth back to the neck area.
Osokogu was allegedly drugged and murdered in a hotel room last July in Lagos by Okwumo Nwabufor and Olisaeloka Ezike, who are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, murder and felony.
Also, Osita Orji, the pharmacist who sold the Rophynol drug to the alleged murderers, has been accused of reckless and negligent act while Nonso Ezike, who pawned the deceased’s Blackberry phone, has been charged with possession of stolen property.
Further in his testimony, the professor stated that late Osokogu’s lungs were heavily engorged with blood weighing between 400 and 500 grammes rather than the normal 250-300 grammes, adding that there were also tiny beads on the surface, attributing it to blood accumulation called pulmonary oedema.
Professor Obafunwa explained further that there were also tiny beads in the lining of her voice box while the kidney, when sliced, had dark spots in some areas, indicating a shut down of blood circulation due to shock
According to him, the seven bruises on Osokogu’s thighs were suspected to be bite marks while when the corpse was skinned, deep bruises, which couldn’t be seen on the skin were found on various parts of her leg.
The autopsy pictures revealed that Cyhthia’s hands were tied with tape and a chain covered with blue plastic wrap and there were bruises at the back of her right hand and her mouth was disfigured.
The pathologist stated that the only clothing on her corpse, which was labelled unknown when brought in, was an under shirt with pink stripes.
He concluded his testimony by affirming that all the marks on her weren’t inflicted after death as no dead body can feel the impact to have such marks.
While being cross-examined by the defence counsels, Professor Obafunwa maintained that based on their examination and microscopic study, there was no evidence that the late Osokogu was suffering from any disease like asthma or tuberculosis.
The professor of forensic medicine had earlier testified that Osokogu died from asphyxia, that is, an absence of oxygen supply to the body, adding that the blockage of the deceased’s upper respiratory airways was the immediate cause of her death. He also dispelled any probability of a self-inflicted harm or outright suicide.
The matter was adjourned till May 31.

PDP Claims Amaechi's Election Was Rigged. Otio! !

Nonsense !!!! when Nigerians rejected the results that produced some PDP Governors, was anything done about it NO.

Some governors on Friday evening rejected the re-election of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers as the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF.
The governors, led by Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, claim Mr. Amaechi’s election held earlier was rigged.
Addressing the press at the end of an emergency meeting at the Akwa Ibom Government House in Abuja, Mr. Akpabio, leading Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo, Peter Obi of Anambra, and others, said the ballot papers used for the election were not serialized thus allowing for manipulation.
They said they would not recognise Mr. Amaechi’s victory and would instead recognise Mr. Amaechi’s challenger, Jonah Jang of Plateau, as the Governors Forum chairman.
Mr. Amaechi defeated Mr. Jang by 19 votes to 16 on Friday at the election held at the Rivers State Government House.
The Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party leadership had opposed Mr. Amaechi’s re-election with the PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Tony Anenih, claiming the NGF had been hijacked by the opposition.

Well we want these people to know that NGF is not about PDP it's about other political parties too,so that's their business if the reject it,after all some Governors are fraudulently sitting in as Governors,if it is so easy to reject results, some of them won't be sitting on that seat.

According to him, that statement is a declaration of war on the Nigerian State, warning Jonathan to distance himself from Asari Dokubo as he has become a political liability.
Professor Kabiru further warned against any plans by serving and past political leaders to manipulate the 2015 elections. “People’s votes must count. Any attempt by people in or out of power to manipulate the will of the people will be met with serious consequences. Rubbish ! ! ! Justice Adam Onum Sentences Tersoo Terna To Death By Hanging For Stealing A Hilux Jeep.

A High Court sitting in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, has sentenced a middle-aged man, one Tersoo Terna, to death by hanging for stealing a Toyota Hilux Jeep belonging to a clergyman.
Justice Adam Onum, on Thursday, convicted the robber for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
The robber, according to the state prosecuting counsel, Mrs Jean Abba Ewurum, had told the court that the convict and three others now at large, conspired, attacked and robbed one Reverend Peter Azuana of NKST at Mkar in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State in May 2012.
During the trial, the complainant provided six witnesses, while the vehicle’s document was tendered, including a bag containing an expended bullet shell, four jean trousers, one singlet, a tooth brush and two identity cards all recovered from the convict were submitted as exhibits.
The convict also called on two witnesses; his wife and brother who gave evidence in defence.
In his judgment, the trial judge, who highlighted all evidences before him, said that a case of criminal conspiracy was established against the offender and accordingly sentenced him to death by hanging.
The judge rebuffed the plea of leniency by the counsel for the convict, Mrs C K Umburga.

This is totally unacceptable and absurd,we are tired of these type of biased and senseless judgements.
Please what are your thoughts? ....
Is this judgement in order?

President Jonathan Condemns Terror Attack On Britain.

President Goodluck Jonathan has condemned the terrorist attack and killing of a British soldier, Fusiliers in the Woolwich area of London, United Kingdom; and strongly condemns this unfortunate incident.
Drummer Lee Rigby of the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Regiment was savagely attacked and killed on an open street yesterday.
Sending his condolences to British Prime Minister David Cameron and the British people, Mr. Jonathan described the incident as a “senseless and barbaric act.”

He said that a terrorist attack anywhere is an attack on the way of life of all free nations and must be collectively condemned by all persons irrespective of race, ethnicity or religion.

“It is in this spirit that the Nigerian government is partnering with the British Government, as well as all other stakeholder sovereigns to stand up to and fight terrorism and extremism in whatever guise or pretense it chooses to present itself,” he said in a statement signed by a spokesman.

“President Jonathan recognizes that each environment presents its own unique challenges and peculiarities and [that while] actions taken by affected nations may differ, yet the resolve to confront and defeat this threat should never be in doubt.”

Taking the opportunity to comment on the challenge of Boko Haram, President Jonathan said that Nigerians are collectively resolute about the need to protect the freedoms that define our existence and inter-relationships at home and overseas.
“Our recent past tells us that when we pull together, this common enemy and threat will eventually be defeated,” the statement concluded.

Jose Mourinho Agrees To Four Year Chelsea Deal.Details Here.

JOSE MOURINHO will fly to London on June 2 and sign a four-year contract at Chelsea worth £250,000 a week.
Mourinho will jet in the day after his final game in charge of Real Madrid to seal his mega deal.
That is a commitment of around £50m from owner Roman Abramovich for the second coming of The Special One,Mourinho is so keen to get started in his new job he will not waste any time after Real’s final game against Osasuna at the Bernabeu.
He will be accompanied on the trip by his fitness coach Rui Faria and goalkeeping coach Silvino Louro
But there is no prospect of Chelsea signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Madrid as the superstar’s relationship with Mourinho has broken down.
Although Mourinho is coming to London on Sunday week – he bought a home in the capital last year – there are no plans yet to formally announce him as the new boss at Stamford Bridge.
His salary this time is around three times what he was paid when he first arrived at the club in 2004.
Real Madrid and Mourinho confirmed they will part company at the end of the season.
And because the split has been mutually agreed, Chelsea will not have to pay any compensation to the Spanish giants.

Buhari Ask Jonathan To Resign.

Former Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari has advised President Goodluck Jonathan to resign from office for his inability to tackle the security challenges facing the country.
“Jonathan should vacate and give way to competent hand to govern the country”, he said.
Speaking to newsmen in his residence in Daura town yesterday, General Buhari said the issue of security is a fundamental duty of any responsible government, but Jonathan failed to protect the lives and the properties of Nigerians since he assumed power.
“When the Niger Delta militants started their activities in the South-South, they were invited by the late President Umaru Yar’adua.
An aircraft was sent to them and their leaders met with the late President in Aso Rock and discussed issues. They were given money and a training scheme was introduced for their members. But when the Boko Haram emerged in the north members of the sect were killed,” General Buhari lamented.
“And when the police failed to address the insurgency, soldiers were invited and they captured the Boko Haram leader, Muhammad Yusuf alive and handed him over to police. But Yusuf was eventually killed, his in-law too was killed and their houses were demolished”, he said.
He said the murder of the Boko Haram leader however provoked his followers and that was what led the country to its present situation. He suggested that government should adopt a new approach that will end the insurgency without affecting the lives and properties of innocent people.
“In Bama and Baga towns, military personnel were reported to have been engaged in extortion and sometimes raping of women. And because a soldier was killed in Baga the whole town was sacked by military. This is not the best way military should have acted when they were sent to restore law and order in a town. How can a responsible government allow its people to be killed in this way,” he asked.
He warned that the police, SSS, army, navy and Air force should know how to conduct themselves and act professionally.
“The soldiers are not expected to go and sack a town because one of them is killed. They are expected to capture the culprits for prosecution. After all the soldiers are not meant to tackle internal crisis but when it is necessary they should act professionally.
“Whoever is sent to protect people should also protect their integrity. When the former England’s Prime Minister, Margret Thatcher decided to hold its political meeting in Brighton the security advised her to cancel the meeting because of the IRN rebellions, but she insisted and held the meeting. The hotel she was accommodated was bombed and some of her political associates were killed but soldiers did not condone the area and kill everybody there, rather they conducted themselves professionally,” Buhari said.
General Buhari, who condemned the imposition of state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states, said state of emergency was not the best way to address insurgency in the three affected states and the country in general.
“Government cannot kill all the Boko Haram members. Government should rather arrest and prosecute the Boko Haram members. They should only be killed when they said clearly they wage war against their country like what happened during the civil war. And even during civil war we that fought in the war were given a copy of code of conduct book which guided us against killing innocent people”, he said.

However, right after landing on Turkish soil, he received a call from his manager informing him that the contract had been cancelled. Pascal was warned by his team manager not to return to Nigeria, under the veiled threat that his life would be in danger and suggested that he travel to Istanbul.
Pascal had never heard of Istanbul. The manager simply said to him, "this is a big city and you will find help". Fortunately for Pascal when he arrived at Istanbul train station a Turkish resident befriended him and helped him with the contact details of a soccer club.

The young Nigerian has been in Turkey for three years and his dream of playing soccer for a living never eventuated.
Looking back over this time Pascal said: "God put this in my path, I am sure of it.
"I trained myself in that club but finally all this came to nothing. Many promises but no results, only faith in God."
This has been the only support he found during this time - his Christian faith and trust in God.
Regardless of all that had happened Pascal remains convinced.
"I came to Turkey with the intentions of playing football but God brought me here for another league," he said. "I have not played a single game with any recognised club, but I am playing a game which is more important - to give God's testimony with my life and my actions. "I had one plan, but God had other plans for me. God made me find another team. "I have found a prayer group, my faith has grown, I pray every day and I give praise to Him for bringing me here."
Pascal's story is not unique for there are many more stories like his.
Young boys from Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon and other African countries travel to Turkey with many hopes and dreams.
Following the same fraudulent system, all were promised a football club to play for, after handing over large sums of money in their home countries.
Most of them were helped by the support and efforts of their extended families only to discover on arrival that it was all a farce.
Fr Julius Ohnele, a Nigerian priest, is responsible for the pastoral care of these immigrants in Istanbul. To counter the problems encountered by the young immigrants he has worked with a group of dedicated people over the past five years to organise a championship among the African players who have come from different countries.

After years of hard work Fr Julius has this to say about the initiative.
"The training and matches keep them busy and it's healthy that they get training and keep themselves in form," he said.
"Furthermore, we invite different football clubs to see them playing and through this work we have managed to place some players in clubs."
The plight of these football players is just one specific case, but there are thousands of Africans in Turkey suffering similar heartache.
"Some of them flee from the situation of war and violence in their own countries, for example Somalia, Eritrea and Congo," Fr Julius said.
"Others think that while living here, they will find a better life or a step closer to the neighbouring countries.
"The geographic situation of Turkey makes it a place of transit for them, however the border with Greece is very controlled and in the end many of the immigrants get stuck, without money, without work, without hope."Many end with depression."

The residence permit costs from $1000 to $3000 - depending on how long one has stayed as an illegal migrant in the country - and the permit is only for six months.

Finding a job is difficult and often the immigrants feel discriminated against and disadvantaged in society.
Some of them rely on occasional work, which is also difficult to find and they make little to sustain themselves. Frequently they look for help from Fr Julius, but he has almost nothing material to offer them except his prayers.
"It is hard to get support or any assistance for them in Turkey, much more difficult than in other countries in Europe," he said.
To go back to their countries is impossible for them, not only due to lack of money but for more emotive reasons.
"My 'brothers' prefer to die starving, without medical help and being humiliated, instead of going back to their homes to destroy the hopes that families have placed on them," Pascal said.
"In our own countries, they think that Europe is a land where they are going to find a better life and be able to help those who have been left in their countries.
"The families give out all that they have so that their child could go abroad - sometimes they borrow a big amount of money and bring themselves into debt.
"Going back home to admit that one has been deceived is unimaginable; better to die in misery than go back."
Fr Julius said "they all suffer a lot, many end up in prison".
"Others have tried to go to Greece with fatal results," he said. "Shortly, after arriving here in 2007, I lost some of my parishioners. "I knew them, I had prayed with them. "They all were drowned when the boat in which they went, sank. "That day I felt my heart was broken. "Unfortunately, this is happening continuously."
To come to terms with this reality is not easy for these African immigrants in a country where much of the population are Muslims.

The Catholic community is one of the few places where these "diaspora Africans" feel at home.
Besides Mass in English on Sunday, Fr Julius celebrates an African Mass regularly, with its music and customs. These occasions are a good opportunity to give them a message of hope, perseverance and encouragement. Many of them have seen their faith strengthen after suffering so many difficulties. There are Rosary groups and Charismatic groups.

"The prayer sustains us all. God is their hope," Fr Julius said. The Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need is supporting the Church in Turkey to assist their work with African immigrants.

Idoma People's Dream Of Becoming Governor Of Benue 2015 Has Being Dashed.

Hope of the Idomas to spearhead the affairs of Benue State, come 2015 was recently dashed when Senate President and the Okpokpowulu of Idomaland, Senator David Mark declared that Idoma man can not be Governor of the state.
Mark warned his people not be deceived by thinking that an Idoma man would take over the mantle of leadership from the incumbent Governor, Gabriel Suswam in 2015. He said that they can only be Governor if the much-awaited Apa State is created.
He gave this warning in his country home, Otukpo, the Idoma ancestral home during a courtesy visit by the Igede stake holders, led by Sir Moses Ajima and Hon. Samson Okwu, member, representing Oju/Obi federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The nigerian Senate leader opined that an Idoma can only be Governor if Apa State is Created or Alternatively, the rotation of power clause among the senatorial zone is inserted in the constitution amendment.
Mark took his time to explain why he would not dabble into the affairs of the state to avoid unnecessary clashes with Governor Suswam.
He said the moment he dabbles into domestic issues in Benue, there would be crises between him and the Governor.
