Collation of results have begun in almost all the
Sixteen local governments areas of Ekiti State.
The Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) ad hoc staffs are now announcing the results of the elections at the various polling units and wards across the state.
Early results seen by Saharareporters shows
that former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose of  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is
leading and may likely win the final votes, if the trend continues.

The Police in Enugu State have arrested Pastor Timothy Ngwu, the General Overseer of Vineyard Ministry of the Holy Trinity, located in Nsukka, Enugu State. Before his arrest on Friday, the self acclaimed Pastor, who said he was obeying God’s command, has put no less than 20 members of his church in a family way.
Two of the women, who had left their husband and are now living with the General Overseer, Calista Omeje, and Assumpta Odo confirmed that they left their husband and went to the General Overseer based on the prophetic injunction to do the will of God.

Wicked Husband Sets Wife Ablaze For Giving Him Only Female Children.

A middle aged woman, Mrs. Monica Nwakpuke, escaped death after her husband, Paul, allegedly hired assassins to set fire on her body so that she would burn to death for giving birth to only female children for him instead of a male child.

The culprit, Paul (a patent medicine dealer) hails from Ebonyi State allegedly hired assassins to murder his wife. The assassins then trailed the woman to her father’s house refuge over the lingering problem of male child saga in her husband’s house with the purported plan by her husband to eliminating her.

“Three men laid ambush for Monica in the night waiting for her when she came out to use the toilet and when she eventually came out that night, the attackers rushed and grabbed her while one of them slapped her repeatedly on her face before forcing her onto a standby motorcycle and sped off.”

The attackers poured fuel on her body, then set her on fire and flee the scene but as God may have it, she was rescued and rushed to the  Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki where she is said to be battling to stay alive.

Woman Arrested In Lagos For Selling Her 2 Month Old Baby For N30,000.

The Lagos State Police command has arrested a middle-aged woman for allegedly selling a two-month-old baby for N30,000.

The suspect identified as Mrs Victor according to Police sources was arrested at her residence in Sabo Ilaje area of Lagos, following a tip off.

Police sources at the State Criminal Investigation Department where the suspect is currently being detained, told Crime Guard that there was a complaint that the suspect was engaged in child trafficking. When she was arrested, she confessed to have sold a two month-old baby for N30,000. She is yet to state the name of the buyer nor give us her contact. She still insists   she did not know the person. Investigation is still on-going Police sources said.

The remains of the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Chief Abdul-Azeez Arisekola-Alao, have been laid to rest at his Oluwokekere, Bashorun, Ibadan residence.

Eminent personalities which included former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bode George, ace musician, King Sunny Ade and so much more were all present to pay their last respect to the late billionaire businessman/philanthropist.

Arisekola-Alao had died in London on Wednesday, few hours before he was due to return to

Nigeria. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

As Yaya and Kolo compete in the World Cup in Brazil, news has filter out from Manchester that their 28-year-old younger brother Ibrahim has
died.
It is understood that Ibrahim died after a battle with cancer after he was being treated at The Christie hospital where he was receiving chemotherapy.

The Ivorian World Cup squad announced the news with an official statement, reading:
Kolo and Yaya Toure just heard about the death of their young brother, Toure Oyala Ibrahim. The entire Ivorian delegation want to show their support to the players.
The Ivory Coast FA president and the executive committee have announced to the entire family of Ivorian football the death of Toure Oyala Ibrahim who died on the 19th of June in Manchester.

Ibrahim Toure was a footballer in his own right,having played for Egyptian side Al Safa SC, as well as having had stints at Metalurh Donetsk in Ukraine and French club Nice.

According to the report A notorious terrorist who has led serial attacks on security personnel, Mallam Husaini has died in an encounter between his group and a military convoy along Jos – Bauchi highway.

Husaini who leads a cell of the terrorists billed to operate in the Plateau is known to have led an attack on Headquarters, Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Abuja in November 2012. He also led the attack on military convoy moving from Lokoja to Kaduna where 2 soldiers were killed in January 2013.

I appreciate the value of education in a child's life; I understand the difficulty faced by our Primary School Teachers in fending for their wards in Universities; I hear the grumbling from young Benue undergraduates unable to access meagre sums promised them as Scholarship from a State Government immune to empathy. IG Orders Withdrawal Of Police Orderlies Attached To Political Office Holders In Ekiti.

Ahead of Saturday’s election, the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar, has ordered the immediate withdrawal of all  police orderlies attached to all political office holders in Ekiti State and vowed to arrest any politician found violating any electoral law.Speaking at a stake holders’ meeting in Ado Ekiti, yesterday, which was attended by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof Atahiru Jega officials of the Department of State Service (DSS), military personnel and some of the gubernatorial candidates,  he said no politician would be given  the privileged of having police orderly during the election.‘No official of government, commissioner or any politician will be given police orderly, DSS or soldier during the day of election,” adding that  there will be total restriction of movement of people and vehicles during on Election Day, saying the restriction would  be between 6am to8pm.The police boss advised voters  who had registered in places far from  their residence to go and sleep overnight where they would vote.The IGP further assured that the presence of the police would be felt in all the towns, villages and farmsteads in the state and the police would be civil in the discharge of their constitutional responsibility“We know we have some places that are very volatile, the police will go to the nook and crannies of the state,” he assured and admonished politicians to be orderly and conduct themselves in a decent manner.On allegation that some politicians who were found thumb printing ballot papers were arrested in a hotel, the police boss admitted that though some people were arrested by officials of DSS,  they were arrested for a different offence, adding  that investigation was still on.Also speaking at the occasion, the INEC chairman assured that the body would conduct a credible and reliable election that would stand the test of time and dismissed allegation that his organization is colluding with some politicians to rig Saturday’s electionHe equally said INEC may not be able to provide certified copies of registers as demanded by some politicians, saying that INEC could only give them copies of PDF electronic version of the registerJega regretted that there was no perfect technology but  assured that INEC would  check multiple registrationIn his own contribution, the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Mr Ayo Fayose said he had a wrong belief  that the police authority were working for a particular candidate but for the way the police boss had spoken.Also speaking, the state chairman of the APC,Chief Jide Awe, expressed concern overt the spate of arrests of his party men over what he described as phantom charges.

Security Concerns Stopped Construction Of Makurdi Cargo Terminal – Minister

The supervising Minister of Aviation, Dr Samuel Ortom, on Thursday said that construction of the Makurdi cargo terminal was stopped because of security concerns.
Ortom said in Abuja that consultation was still ongoing to restart the project.
The minister said that work on the cargo terminal was stopped to allow for more input from security experts to tackle the security issues that had arisen
He explained that the airport was a military facility while other cargo terminals undergoing remodelling across the country were civil airports.
According to Ortom, anything concerning security issues cannot be ignored and will be better handled by security experts.
``The airport in Makurdi was a military airport; after we started work on the cargo terminal in Makurdi, our attention was drawn to some security issues and so, we had to stop.
``We all know that security issues are better mapped by security experts and they cannot be ignored; however, we are in consultation with them to see how we can continue.
``We have already invested in the place and we are still discussing with the military authorities there and as soon as we conclude the discussion, work will continue,’’ Ortom said.
He said that work was progressively ongoing at various cargo terminals undergoing remodelling across the country.
Ortom said that phase one of the projects had been completed; most of phase two were ongoing; some of phase three were yet to take off but that some were already ongoing.
``We have some challenge in funding but at the same time we are trying to look for ways to generate revenue internally.
``We are trying to re-privatise some of these jobs and also trying to look for interventions and where we can get private sector participation to support,’’ he added.
The minister said that the remodelling programme of the ministry was an ongoing project and ``we intend to continue from
where we picked up and we are going to complete it''.
``We are determined to secure the industry in a way that Nigerians, including those who are coming into Nigeria for business, will be comfortable and not have issues including that of security.’’
Ortom said that aviation industry remained the safest way of travelling worldwide and promised to improve it to a benefiting standard for the Nigeria.
He said two per cent of work carried was out on the Lagos, Port Harcourt and Kano airports while Abuja had nine per cent.
``I think that there is not going to be any challenge, especially when it comes to funding of these four international airports, because money is adequately provided for them.
``The 500 million dollars loan that we obtained from China is intact and the N100 million counterpart funding we have sought through the Federal Ministry of Finance.’’
The minister added that the remodelling had provided a lot of jobs for Nigerian youths, especially those in Abuja.
``We have over 600 Nigerian youths working at the Abuja site alone,’’ Ortom said.

Though he is still keeping the traditional and white wedding under wraps, the source revealed that Yisa recently visited him as she was hosted by some of Lurrenz’s friends.

Correspondence Chapel Of NUJ Benue State Boycotts Gov Suswam's Government Due To Maltreatment By His Security Men.

MEMBERS of correspondent chapel in Benue State have boycotted the government activities following the shabby treatment been meted to them by security operatives attached to the state governor, Mr Gabriel Suswam.

 According to the statement issued by the chairman of the chapel, Sunday Ogli, a copy made available to the Journalists,the chapel regretted the frequent neglect and inhuman treatment meted to its members.

The chapel also observed with bitterness, the ruthless and cruel manner the governor’s security men harassed correspondents whenever they travelled with him outside the state capital on any official assignment.

It noted that in spite of persistent pleas to the governor to provide a suitable vehicle for trips with him outside the state capital, he had continued to endanger the lives of its members by providing them rickety bus.

“Similarly, we observe with regret, the way the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Public Affairs often sidelined our members on very important state matters and addressed journalists in Abuja and Lagos,” he said.

Her name was Jolomi Ikomi.  She meant so much to me and she was simply irreplaceable.  Prior to her death, she lost her older brother to sickle cell anemia in the early 2000's, and now her older sister Bemigho Anene is battling with chronic kidney disease, as a result of sickle cell anaemia. President Jonathan Appoints Bode's Wife Roli ,As DG NDLEA .

President Jonathan has appointed  the wife of a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP, Roli Bode-George as the new Director General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,
NDLEA.Chief  George, a leader of the PDP in Lagos, is currently a delegate, appointed by the
president, at the National Conference. His conviction for fraud, when he served as head of
the Nigeria Ports Authority, by a High Court was upturned by the Supreme Court.
Mr. Jonathan’s spokesperson, Reuben Abati, announced the appointment on his twitter
handle on Thursday evening. He said the appointment is with immediate effect.
Mrs. Bode-George takes over from Olufemi Ajayi, who was on Wednesday appointed the
Executive Secretary of the PetroleumTechnology Development Fund, PTDF.
President Jonathan had in 2011 also appointed Mrs. Bode-George as a federal commissioner in
the National Population Commission, NPC.
