Presidency Congratulates APC Over Successful Convention.

THE Presidency has congratulated the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and  a  former governor of Edo State,  Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and other members of the executive committee on their election.

According to the Presidency, Oyegun and other members of the APC National Working Committee, NWC, should use their position to strengthen democracy and douse tension associated with electoral contest especially at this period of Nigeria’s political history as well as security challenge.In a statement yesterday, the Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters, Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali, who hailed the APC for the successful conduct of its first national convention and election of officers that will steer the affairs of the party in the next few years, said, “Their election is coming at a very critical period in the nation’s political history when the country is preparing for elections.”Alkali  urged the new APC leadership to provide for a  very robust and constructive opposition political party that puts the interest of the country above every other consideration, stressing that APC leaders should ensure that peace and development of Nigeria top their agenda.Ahead of the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti State, the Political Adviser, who called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, political parties, governorship candidates and their supporters to work in harmony to ensure successful poll in the state, said, “President Goodluck Jonathan has laid solid foundation for conduct of free, fair and credible polls in the country and all hands must be on deck to ensure the people of Ekiti state are allowed to exercise their right to elect their leaders without let or hindrance.”

Decomposing Body Of Special Needs Child Found In Mother’s Refrigerator.

A Texas community is mourning the loss of a young special needs child after her lifeless body was found stuffed inside a freezer drawer in the home where she lived with her mother.

It is a disturbing, troubling case out of Houston, TX where investigators said they found the body of 9-year-old Ayahna Comb in a freezer.

According to Local 2 News, the severely handicapped child was wrapped in blankets and was placed in the kitchen – she had been there since January. The discovery, according to reports, was made by a neighbor who called for help. Her cause of death has not been released.

According to the mother, Ayahna stopped breathing on Jan. 29 and that’s when she allegedly put the child in the freezer drawer. She was only 14 pounds when her body was discovered.

Local 2 News said according to an affidavit they obtained, when the mother was asked why she hid Ayahna’s death and didn’t call 911 and the court paperwork said, “Ms. Keyes said she panicked and does not know why she didn’t call for help.” Apparently the mother was telling others her child was in a special care facility for children who had special needs and she continued to collect government funds for the child.

It is unclear whether charges will be filed, but reports said the younger sister was telling other children about finding a dead body.

Gov Suswam's Elder Bro Denies Making Statement That Hingah Biem Will Be Gov In 2014 ,Ortom Will Never Be Gov.

We postedd here last week comments made by Dr Terkura Suswam at a decamping ceremony where he openly said Hingah Biem will rule Benue.Well we just got a report that he has denied making those commentd ,rather he expressed confidence that the party's machinery would throw up a governorship candidate that would not only be acceptable to all party members but to the entire Benue electorate. 

Chief Dr Suswam said the high number of aspirants vying for the governorship seat in Benue State was an endorsement of the policy and ideology of the PDP which centered on the welfare of the people.

He added that all the aspirants had various leadership qualities but advised them to be prepared to sacrifice their personal interest for the greater benefit of the party and state after the primaries which would have picked one of them as candidate.

The Senior Suswam dismissed reports in some national dailies and the Internet expercially Fa mimiblog quoting him as having stated that a particular aspirant should not be supported describing it as false and as an attempt to taint his image as a true democrat.

Dr Suswam added that as a Christian he believed and has often openly stated that power comes from God and it's only Him that can ordain any of the aspirants to become Governor of the state.

The PDP chieftain emphasized that as a party man he was prepared to work with anybody that emerged as the governorship candidate of the party after the primaries and urged all party faithful to exhibit the same maturity and loyalty.

Chief Dr Suswam however enjoined all the governorship aspirants to conduct themselves as true PDP members and avoid activities that may portray them otherwise.The statement was aired over Radio Benue on Friday, 13th June, 2014.

Aviation Parastatals Don't Pay Money To Me-Chief Samuel Ortom.

Two days ago we posted a report we got from some National dailies that another crisis has rocked the Aviation sector,the whistleblower in that petition said Hon Ortom collects N5m from some Aviation parastatals.Well the Hon Minister has responded to that allegation which he describes as malicious and false.Please read his defense.

My attention has been drawn to reports in some national newspapers that there is another crisis rocking the Aviation Ministry as some parastatals in the ministry are being compelled to make monthly payments to me for the funding of my governorship campaigns in Benue State.

Two of such reports appeared on page three of The Peoples Daily and page 35 of Leadership newspapers of Monday, 9th June, 2014.

It has also come to my knowledge that the masterminds of this deliberate campaign of mischief blackmail and calumny have also syndicated the spurious reports to several other newspapers, magazines, as well as the social and electronic media.

Their plan is to run me down in the media and other platforms throughout June and the next few months of this year.

By the grace of God and the discerning Nigerian public they will surely fail.A cursory look at the reports indicate that they have also failed the most elementary test that he who alleges must also prove as no proof of the allegation has been made and can never ever be made because such a thing never happened.The fact that the reports lack any semblance of a genuine investigative work but are being pushed into the media indicates that unseen sinister hands are at work.

I state categorically that no parastatal or agency under the Aviation Ministry or any official under any of them has been tasked or is being tasked to remit any money and has ever made monthly or any payments to me to fund my campaign.

I challenge any one with proof of such to step forward and publish for the general public.Another aspect of the reports that is untenable is the claim that the chair of the House committee "questioned the secrecy surrounding what it termed the huge debt incurred by the Ministry of Aviation."It was the report that I submitted to the Senate and House committees during their oversight function to the ministry that brought out a profile of the total commitments of the Aviation Ministry over time. 

The commitments of over N174 billion was not any "discovery" other than the submission made by the ministry to the committees.With regard to my governorship ambition it has been a long standing clamor and aspiration of the people of Benue State that is anchored on faith in the Almighty God.

As this dream which dates back to over 20 years gathers momentum so does the desperation of those opposed to it's realization hence the resort to unjustified, unwarranted and unprovable campaigns of mischief, blackmail and sleaze against my person.

I am a grassroots politician who has passed through the crucible of service from the local, state, to the national levels and my support is derived from all these levels across the political divides.I am currently consulting and at the appropriate time I will make a declaration.

But like I keep saying I am not desperate to become governor even as I offer myself for service.Ultimately power belongs to God and He gives it to whosoever he wills.If He could lift me from being a motor park tout in Gboko through various leadership positions to the present level nothing can be too hard for him.There is absolutely no need for me to resort to unethical means to raise funds for any project for which God gives me the go-ahead.Signed:

Court Dissolves Marriage Because Wife Tried To Burst Husband's Testicles.Chaiiiii,Chaiiiii.

An Ibadan Customary Court sitting at Mapo on Monday dissolved the eight-year-old marriage between one Matthew Dipo and his wife, Oluyemisi, after the latter attempted to burst her husband’s testicles.

The Presiding President of the court, Mr Ezekiel Ogundipe, held that the court would not encourage any act that could lead to loss of life.

“I put an end to your marriage so that there will be peace and order. I urge both of you to refrain from one another from today onwards.

“Dipo shall pay a monthly feeding allowance of N2,500 for the upkeep of the three year-old child with Oluyemisi,” he said.

Dipo, who claimed to be an evangelist, had earlier told the court that Oluyemisi had made his marriage a misery.

“Oluyemisi not too long ago exposed me to public ridicule by tearing my clothes, including my underwears, and almost burst my testicles.

“It took my doctor time to rescue me from this ordeal.

“She never took care of the home, let alone the children or even prepare meals.

I had to combine evangelism with caring for the children and she even prevents church members from helping with the home chores.

“My church members were almost 50 in number at a point, but due to Oluyemisi’s domineering attitude, I hardly find one member attending any service today,” Dipo said.

Oluyemisi, however, said that Dipo and members of his family always assault her.

“He rendered me idle by asking me not to work and yet he doesn’t take care of me,” Oluyemisi said. (NAN)

National Conference Advocates Laws To Curb Excesses Of Social MediaOperators.Abegiiiii.

The National Conference sitting in Abuja on Monday advocated the introduction of necessary legal frameworks to ensure that activities of the social media operators are properly guided and streamlined to avoid abuse.

Conference made the decision while adopting the recommendations of the Committee on Science, Technology and Development headed by Dr. Daniel Maddo with Chief Raymond Dokpesi as deputy chairman.

Conference also decided that government should make laws to regulate the operations of cyber cafes for the protection of children and under-aged users.

It was also resolved that in order to the elevate scientific and technological development in Nigeria, a National Science and Technology Fund should be established by the Federal Government for utilization in science, technology and innovation activities.

The Fund when established would be managed by a Presidential Council for Science, Technology and Innovation including all the Nigerian Academies.

Army Kills 50 Suspected Boko Haram Terrorists In Borno.

The Defence Headquarters on Monday said its troops killed 50 suspected Boko Haram terrorists in a counter offensive along Biita, a border community in Borno State at the weekend.

A statement issued by the Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, said the suspected terrorists were ambushed by troops while attempting to raid communities in Borno and Adamawa States.

The statement said: “The terrorists who were on their way to attack selected communities were ambushed by troops along Biita, Borno State on receiving intelligence report of the terrorists’ intention.

“The attack was launched on the terrorists as they filed out of the forest to embark on their mission at about 10pm on Saturday.  Over 50 terrorists died in the fierce encounter that ensued, while 30 rifles, 36 hand grenades, seven machine guns and 11 rocket propelled grenade tubes were captured by the troops.

“Also recovered from the terrorists were over 3,500 rounds of ammunition, six smoke grenade canisters and locally fabricated guns as well as four vehicles used by the terrorists in the foiled attack.

“The four soldiers who were wounded in the operation are currently receiving medical treatment in the military medical facility.  Cordon and search is ongoing in the general area.”

Igedes Cry Out Over Marginalisation By Idomas In Benue State.

The Igede people of Benue state  are predominantly farmers and Historical Warriors, with enriched cultural heritage,they belong to the same geopolitical zone with the Idomas but the Idomas dominate the zone.
An indigene of Igedeland sent this to me and i wish it will get to Sen David Mark.

WHO WILL LISTEN?

Without sentiments,Sen David Mark has not done enough for the Igede people.He has several appointees from and outside the zone, and none is of Igede extraction.

There is no visible project anywhere in Igedeland traceable to him.Our youths are plaqued with unemployment.No Igede youth can boast that Sen.Mark gave him a job.

The few appointments given to few elders are scrumps without potentials of job creation.Since 1976,Igede has never produced a Minister.

We thought that, we can celebrate a Minister of Idoma extraction.It however pains us that,Igede is treated as an orphan when it comes to sharing the benefits of government.They struggle for thier people and forget our own people.

They are cut off from us and only come around when elections are near No visible constituency office.We have learnt our lessons.Igede youths wont make mistakes in 2015.We will look for who is closer to our minds.While others from the zone take notes from offices to get jobs here and there,we are treated with levity.

We have no Senator,no Minister,no Ambassador,no Deputy Governor,no SSG,etc.Who shall give us such notes?
Igede has played decisive roles at critical moments of electioneering in the zone.I hope our anger will be seen as reasonable.

A LEADER that is too far from the people is strolling up there.Those that would have helped mitigate the gap have rather turned haters of Igedeland.Such persons have no respect for Igede Political elders or elite.
Since political victory at election has not helped us,we may opt for failure and see what it brings,whether it will be different from the pains of victory in Igedeland.
Just watch us preach the gospel of NO VOTE for our enemies in 2015!
