Felabration 2013: RIta Marley Confirmed As Guest Speaker.

Rita Marley, wife of the late Reggae music icon, Bob Marley will be featuring in this year's Felabration festival, the week-long annual event is to immortalise the iconic Fela Anikulapo Kuti, activist and creator of Afrobeat music .

This landmark participation by Marley was concluded at a meeting held in Ghana last week beween Mrs Marley and Ms' Yeni Kuti, daughter of the late founder of the federation and Theo Lawson, chairman Felabration Organising Committee.

As the special guest speaker of the 2013 Felabration symposium, she would be preparing her address around theme: Movement of the People:The Fela-Bob Marley perspective.

Both Kuti and Bob Marley popularised the theme Movement of the People in their various works. Fela's political party was called Movement of the People, M.O.P and he also composed a work by that same title. Bob Marley on the other hand, had a hit single titled Exodus: Movement of Jah People.

The Felabration theme is fashioned to rekindle the people-oriented messages these two mega stars imbibed in their days. Beginning with the symposium, the festival will run through October 14 to October 20.
