BRITISH AIRWAYS SACKS STEWARDESS WHO MADE "RACIST" COMMENTS ABOUT NIGERIA

British Airways has sacked a stewardess who posted a racist Snapchat rant attacking Nigerian passengers.

MailOnline reports that the lady, who had been identified as Joanne Wickenden, got the sack after a two-hour meeting with her bosses.

Wickenden sparked outrage after recording the racist clip in her BA uniform before flying from London Heathrow to Abuja on Friday.

In a statement on Tuesday, the airline said, “She no longer works for British Airways. We expect the utmost professionalism from our staff when they are representing British Airways.”

The 23-year-old, who wants to be an actress, told friends, “I am not a racist,” and claimed the sickening video was “just a joke.”

She told MailOnline, “I have been set up by another BA employee. They were encouraging me, egging me on to say things. They were recording me and sent it around to our friends.

“I don’t want to fly anymore.’

A friend said the unnamed employee wanted Wickenden to “impersonate what goes on on the flight.”

A source told MailOnline that the video – which was captioned, ‘I can’t cope with this flight’ – was circulated among BA cabin crew.

Another shocked staff member said BA should apologise to its Nigerian passengers.

In the expletive-filled footage, Wickenden had said, “All Nigerians are going to be asking for f****** upgrades.”

“Alright, so all of yous are there getting ready for your Friday night, getting in the pre-drinks, you know, as you do.

“And I’m here, getting ready to go to work, put on a yellow life jacket, point out the exits, hand out chicken or beef; what sort of Friday night is this for me?

“The upside is I’m going to Nigeria and there’s gonna be bare B**, I’m joking, I’m joking.

“All the Nigerians are gonna be there like ‘gimme Coca-Cola, gimme me beef, why you have no beef left? I want beef.

“And I’m just gonna be there like, ‘Sorry sir, we ran out of beef.

“All the Nigerians are gonna be there asking for f****** upgrades because they haven’t got enough leg room because their B**s are in their way. Big d**** like this swinging from side to side.”

An airline source told MailOnline; “My friend was horrified. BA has a culture of dealing with things like this internally; she passed it to me because she was concerned that nothing was done.”

The British Airways stewardess behind the racist Snapchat rant against “Nigerian passengers demanding f***ing upgrades” has confessed that having been single for two years long, she misses male company.

She has been revealed to be Ms Joanne Wickenden, who is 23 years old.

She seems to peg her rude remarks against Nigerian customers of the British airlines on what appears to be her sexual frustration, with particular references to Nigerian men and their sex organs.

She had portrayed herself as a sex-starved woman who is in desperate need of male companion, having used plenty expletives such as ” f***ing,” “b***s,” and “Big d****” all of which are sexual innuendos that refer to the male sex organ.

Ms Wickenden was also outed as an aspiring actress who hunted for male company on the dating website, Plenty of Fish.

In her Snapchat tirade against Nigerian passengers on a London-Abuja flight, Wickenden had made copious references to the male genitalia, underscoring her preoccupation with sex, having been single for two years and desperately searching for a male company.

The 5ft 11in air hostess says she has been single for two years, and boasted about her job on the dating site, Plenty of Fish.

“I’m a flight attendant living in Crawley. I’ve been single for 2 years now and miss a bit of male company,” Wickenden wrote.

Ms Wickenden, currently being investigated by the airline, described herself as a ‘Princess’ who likes a laugh.

The 23-year-old, a member of mixed fleet cabin crew, sparked outrage after recording the racist clip in her BA uniform before flying from London Heathrow to Abuja on Friday night.

Wickenden, who is believed to have been suspended, refused to comment about the video at the home she shares with her mother and father in Fareham, Hampshire, MailOnline says.

But a close friend defended the flight attendant, saying, “The film was recorded by a BA colleague.

“She’s not racist; it was a joke between two friends. It wasn’t meant to be racist. She is not saying she dislikes Nigerians and she’s not saying that anyone is better than anyone else.

“The other colleague just wanted her to impersonate what goes on on the flight. Albeit, it was an inappropriate comment to make.

“She’s very upset because now the whole world knows her face and thinks she’s a racist.

But a former school friend noted: “I was disgusted, it’s so embarrassing. She was renowned for making inappropriate jokes at school.”

A shocked staff member said BA should apologise to its Nigerian passengers.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the company said: “We expect the utmost professionalism from our staff when they are representing British Airways. We are investigating this video.”

MailOnline reports that the woman, dressed in a BA uniform, filmed herself as she was about to fly from London Heathrow to Abuja on Friday.

The footage was recorded in her car and circulated among cabin crew who reported it to BA.

Viewers were shocked when the woman said, “All Nigerians are going to be asking for f****** upgrades,” referring to the genitals of the men on board.

During the one-minute footage, filmed on Snapchat, the blonde female worker also revealed how she was going to deal with passengers on the six-hour flight.

A source told MailOnline that the video – which was captioned, ‘I can’t cope with this flight’ – was circulated among BA cabin crew only.

The yet-t0-be identified woman filmed herself, saying, “Alright, so all of yous are there getting ready for your Friday night, getting in the pre-drinks, you know, as you do.

The female could be heard discussing her upcoming flight and making racist comments about passengers travelling to Nigeria.

After shocked crew reported the video to British Airways, the airline launched an investigation.

NFL controversy has 'nothing to do with race,' Trump says

President Donald Trump insisted Sunday that an intensifying feud with National Football League players who won't stand during the US national anthem to draw attention to social injustice, has "nothing to do with race."

Trump spoke after players of America's most popular sport took a defiant stand, in the largest such demonstration since former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick started the protests in 2016.

Trump has ignited a firestorm of criticism after comments on Friday in which he described NFL players who chose to take a knee through renditions of "The Star-Spangled Banner" as "sons of bitches" who should be fired.

The US leader doubled down on those remarks early Sunday, urging fans to boycott the NFL as long as the protests continued, and demanding team owners to "fire or suspend" players who take a knee.

Before boarding Air Force One in New Jersey to head back to Washington, Trump declined to repeat the comments he posted on Twitter earlier, saying instead the protests were "disrespectful to our country and very disrespectful to our flag."

He said "the owners should do something about it."

"We have a great country. We have great people representing our country, especially our soldiers and first responders. They can be treated with respect," Trump said, speaking under the wing of the plane.

"When you get on your knee and you don't respect the American flag or the anthem that is not being treated with respect... This has nothing to do with race or anything else. This has to do with respect for our country, and respect for our flag."

Protests during games on Sunday were the latest twist in a bitter war of words between Trump and US professional sports.

On Saturday, he had also drawn a furious backlash from NBA stars after stating on Twitter that the champion Golden State Warriors and star Stephen Curry would not be invited to attend a White House reception.
