See How The Obamas Spent New Year In Hawaii.




President Barack Obama kicked off the new year Hawaiian-style with beaches and sweet treats.
The First Family started 2015 with a snorkelling trip to Hanauma Bay outside Honolulu which was closed to the public for four hours Thursday morning.
Later, Obama and his daughter Malia stopped in nearby Kailua for shave ice, a Hawaiian treat similar to a snow cone.

President Obama welcomed President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone, President Macky Sall of Senegal, President Joyce Banda of Malawi, and Prime Minister José Maria Pereira Neves of Cape Verde to the White House.  The United States has strong partnerships with these countries based on shared democratic values and shared interests.  Each of these leaders has undertaken significant efforts to strengthen democratic institutions, protect and expand human rights and civil liberties, and increase economic opportunities for their people.
