Late Chief Solomon Lar, the pioneer National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Governor of Plateau, died as a poor man, his daughter, Dr. Chalya Lar said on Thursday.
She made the statement during her testimony at the service of songs for the late Lar at the Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) headquarters in Jos.
“Baba has only one car at the time he died; I am not even sure he has up to N1 million in his account before he died,” she said.

Solomon Lar Is Dead.

First civilian governor of Plateau state and pioneer chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (pdp), Solomon Lar has died in an American hospital early Wednesday after a protracted illness.Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau state announced the passing on of the elder statesman at Government House and lodge in Jishe shortly after receiving the new speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Titus Alams.
Governor Jang described the late politician as not only an illustrious son of Plateau and Nigeria but the African continent for his immense contribution during the colonial days as well as his role during the military regime and pioneering the political party that ushered democracy after a prolonged military regime.

Chief Lar died at the age of Eighty in a Maryland hospital, where he has been receiving treatment.
